In late July, 2001, the Lehigh Valley Velodrome hosted the Junior Track World Chanpionships. The event attracted Junior competitors from twenty-nine countries. They came to Trexlertown from all over the world; the riders, their coaches, trainers and mechanics. ; Officials from all corners of the globe, the velodrome staff, as well as hundreds of volunteers all combined to make this a world class event. When it was over and declared a rousing success, the riders, coaches, trainers, the officials, the veldrome staff and many of those volunteers joined one last time to celebrate with a Pig Roast.
