Macungie Borough and Alburtis Borough.
The MOMS Club was started in 1983. The first local chapter was in Simi Valley, CA. Word spread about the wonderful support that the MOMS Club was offering stay-at-home mothers and we became a national organization in 1985. There are now over 2000 local chapters with 100,000+ members in seven countries, with more chapters starting every day.
The MOMS Club of Macungie/Alburtis Area, PA held its first meeting in May of 2004. Our chapter was sistered from the MOMS Club of Macungie-West, PA (now called the MOMS Club of Lower Macungie-West/Brookside, PA)
The first chapter in the Lehigh Valley was the Trexlertown chapter which began in 1997, and today there are chapters throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Our membership is extremely active, participating in playgroups, field trips, craft days, park days, etc. The opportunity to start new activity/interest groups is always available as we endeavor to meet the needs of all of our members.
-That women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment
-That, for women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job.
-That a family's decision for a mother to stay at home to raise children often involves considerable financial sacrifice.
-That there is no one right way to raise children, but that a major reason for the members to get together is to seek out mothers with the same common concerns for raising their children in the best, most healthful way.
-That children are the community's greatest resource, and that a community's concern for its children is marked by the quality of its schools.
-To provide a support group for mothers who choose to stay home with their children
-To provide a forum for topics pertinent to children, child raising, homemaking, personal improvement, and family issues
-To engage in activities to enrich the lives of children in the community
-To undertake and complete at least one charitable humanitarian or social welfare project related to children each year
