SKID MARKS CAPTURE 2002 TITLE
Once the lovable losers, in the tradition of Hollywood teams, like Minnesota State of 'Coach' fame or 'The Mud-Dogs' of Waterboy fame, the Skidmarks can add a championship banner to the legend.

The Skidmarks, Owned by MultiDollaranaire Scott Hazen, streaked off to a hot start, went through a few mid-season bumps, then streaked down the stretch to complete a remarkable comeback, culminating in a clinching win over the Quarterback heavy Rebels.

“I guess the five year plan worked,” crowed Team Owner Scott Hazen.  “We were the joke of the league, making horrible trades, like giving up on Marvin Harrison and trading Terrell Owens for Jermaine Fazande.  Those trades were hard to live down, but now, it’s all worth it.  WE'VE GOT THE BOZ!!!”

1) SKID MARKS (12-4-1)
It was a magic season for the Skid Marks.  They had both the top QB in Michael Vick (170 points) and the top RB and MVP Priest Holmes (262).  Travis Henry (143) also had a great year.  Ahman Green (85) didn't produce as expected in an injury plagued season.  The WR corps was average, ranking 6th this year.  Marty Booker (66) and Donald Driver (56) led the team.

2) REBELS (11-6)
The Rebels were in a three way race for first place, but really stumbled in the final month losing their last four games.  The Tampa Bay Defense (284 points) really led this team most of the season, and were runner-up in the MVP race.  The rest of the team was solid, but with no big producers.  QB Brett Favre (139) has been better.  RB Corey Dillon (89) had WR Joe Horn (84) had good campaigns, but WR Jimmy Smith (55) had to be a letdown.

3) BOOTLEGGERS (11-6)
The Bootleggers came out of nowhere this year to be contenders after finishing in last place last year.  The emergence of RB Deuce McAllister (170 points) and the addition of QB Tom Brady (165) had a lot to do with it.  Their defense ranked 3rd in the league.  #1 pick William Green (53) really came on at the end, making the most of his last few starts.  WR Rod Gardner (76) seemed to find a way to score every week, but WR Torry Holt (44) had another below average season.

4) ZEPPELINS (10-7)
The Zeppelin offense ranked 2nd, but a slow start (1-4) did them in.  They did rattle off seven straight wins to end the season in fourth place.  RB Clinton Portis (143) had a lot to do with that streak, notching most of his points in the last six weeks.  Terrell Owens (149) was awarded top WR honors, and with WR Eric Moulds (102) formed the top ranked receiving corps.  RB Eddie George (130) bounced back from a horrible 2001 season.  RB Charlie Garner (113) also had a solid season.  RB Michael Pittman (-2) was the only black spot on an otherwise solid season.

5) ISRAELITES (9-8)
It was an up and down year for the Israelites.  They made a move late in the season but fell short when their offense stalled.  QB Aaron Brooks (140) led the team, but only scored 26 points in the last four weeks.  The feared RB trio of Fred Taylor (106), Jamal Lewis (87) and Curtis Martin (85) all managed to stay healthy most of the season.  The receiving corps is improving with the addition of Isaac Bruce (48) and the development of young receivers like Santana Moss (33).  The Israelites also had the highest rated kicking game, led by Martin Gramatica (194).

6) IDIOTS (9-8)
With their win in the final week, the Idiots managed another winning season.  It was not an easy year for the team though, as only PK Adam Vinatieri (172) topped 100 points.  In fact, the QB duo of Drew Brees (70) and Kurt Warner (6) ranked dead last in the league.  Hines Ward (97) was a surprise as the teams top WR, with Keyshawn Johnson (58), Tony Gonzalez (55) and Plaxico Burress (54) all falling a bit short of expectations.

7) VIPERS (8-9)
The Vipers got off to a 1-4 start, highlighted by a 99-91 loss in Week 2.  QB Donovan McNabb (142) was on his way to top QB honors when he was injured in Week 11.  Backup Rich Gannon (64) filled in nicely, giving the Vipers the 2nd ranked QB corps.  Two-time MVP Marshall Faulk (99) was a disappointment this year after back to back 200+ point seasons.  RB Tiki Barber (113) and WR Peerless Price (101) both had great seasons.

8) DUNCES (7-9-1)
It goes without saying that QB Peyton Manning (166) and WR Marvin Harrison (142) both had great seasons.  Three-time Top WR Randy Moss (93), on the other hand, failed to top 100 points for the first time in his career.  RBs Stephen Davis (65) and Duce Staley (57) led a below average group.  The Dunces also had the lowest ranked PK unit, averaging only 6 points per game.

9) SEA BIRDS (6-11)
After starting 2-2, the Sea Birds dropped 8 of their next 9 games en route to only their second losing season. QB Jon Kitna (107) led a QB group that ranked a surprising 3rd.  RBs Ricky Williams (222) and Shaun Alexander (177) led the leagues 2nd best ground attack.  On the other hand, the WR corps of David Patten (30), Tim Brown (20) and others ranked dead last.  The Defense (only 7 points per game) also ranked dead last.

10) 101 BOYS (6-11)
The 101 Boys only won two of their first ten games.  The Boys are suffering from the league's lowest ranked rushing attack, as Stacey Mack (32) led the team.  WR David Boston (18) was lost for the season halfway through.  WR Rod Smith (34) was a major let down after last season's 108 point performance.  WR Amani Toomer (105) was the lone bright spot in a forgettable season.

11) WOODY'S (6-11)
RB LaDainian Tomlinson (176) has taken the next step after last years fine rookie performance.  Unfortunately Phil Dawson (115) was the only other player to top 100 points.  QB Tim Couch (97) missed some games to injury.  WR Laveranues Coles (57) didn't get enough playing time.  WR Kevin Johnson (37) continues to struggle.

12) WAR MONGERS (6-11)
At one point the War Mongers were 4-4, but a second half collapse (including losing their last five) doomed them to last place.  PK Ryan Longwell (175) was the only player on the team to top 100 points.  RB Warrick Dunn (89) had a solid season and may have scored more with more playing time.  RB Edgerrin James (27) suffered through another injury plagued season.  WR Koren Robinson (44) finished strong, scoring in 4 of the last 5 games.
