When You
Cried At Night
© by Bob Macchia
How many
times you cried at night,
And stayed
up so very long.
How many
times your cried at night,
To calm
you, I'd sing you a song.
How many
times you cried at night,
Because
you were in so much pain.
Everything
I tried to do,
Seemed
like it was in vain.
How many
times you cried at night,
And I
would hold you in my arms.
How I'd
hug and gently kiss you,
and try
to take away your harm.
How many
times you cried at night,
and could
not fall asleep.
It hurt
me so very bad,
That it
too made me weep.
How many
times you cried at night,
And kept
me up till the wee hours.
But I
didn't mind this at all,
Because
I knew you were ours.
