After Hearing James Galvin was Conducting a Workshop Here,
I Rewrite his Elegy
I wanted to ask you
where you keep your CDs
and which ones.  How
familiar is your music,
and do you hear it?
If so, I am deaf.
In a monotone room,
I first heard you read
and several of us wrote
poems about it.  I, who thought
to make reference to Ramon
and his maker, worded
and idea that made you
throw up the night.  But you
didn't answer your question.
How far up would you go
to be unreachable?  How tall
are the ceilings in Wyoming?
You know, I once thought
I knew you from
Lethal Frequencies
which we respected
once we heard you say it,
"I am no one.  I am
no one, you know."
