Smitten, he hears Dave Matthews Band
He is not himself.
During this first break from sunshine
the sky swells the way
he had hoped, one day, it would.
He even thinks rain and beauty are the same.
He understands the purpose of the rose.

"In your eyes I see what's on my mind,"
he hears.  He finds the unassailable
curiosity of change.  He writes,
"He pretends he knows but then
explodes the truth,"  Imagines
his pen's a rose stem, calls out,
"Red clouds on a sweet gray day
explode like hearts rotund with ardor."

In an attempt to exaggerate my love for you,
I realized, I can't.
