Gingerbread Cake
Gingerbread Cake
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
1 egg
1 cup hot water
Sift first 5 ingredients,
cream shortening with sugar.
In a large bowl, beat
in egg and molasses. Stir
in flour mixture half at
a time. Bake at 350 degrees
for 30 minutes.
