Devil's Food Cake

1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 cups milk

sift dry ingredients in a bowl.
in another bowl, cream shortening,
beat in sugar and blend in
eggs and vanilla. add dry
ingredients to creamed mixture
alternately with milk.
grease and flour 2 round cake pans.
bake at 350 for 35 mins.
