Leanne is a beautiful middle-aged woman, her husband Michael ignores her, but she thinks it's normal in a long marriage like theirs.

One day at a shopping mall, Leanne runs into Michael walking out of Fredericks of Hollywood with another woman.  Leanne's world collapses, as she learns that he has a lover who is older, and overweight, but more groomed and sexier than she is.

Leanne wants to get a divorce, though following the advice of Rita, her best friend, she postpones the decision and agrees to go to couples therapy to save the marriage.

The Psychologist refers them to a sex therapist and this changes the course of the story.  Leanne begins to fantasize about him boycotting Michael's efforts to have a better relationship, and instead obsesses about the therapist.  She even harasses him: following, photographing and calling, but he doesn't respond.

Michael loves his wife and is desperate thinking that he will lose her. He suspects Leanne is interested in somebody, and trying to discover who it is thinks it's her boss, and decides to give him a hard time.

At a certain point, Leanne's life has changed so much for the better that she is not sure if either a divorce or a reconciliation would be better that what her life has become.

Suddenly she learns that Rita, her best friend, has been going out with Michael as friends.  Shocked she rushes to the Psychologist, and comes to the conclusion that she wants to punish her husband, though she really loves him.

Convinced of her feelings she decides to give the relationship a second chance.
