Mystery Men

I hope I don't have to be lame and say that this movie is hilarious, because it's so obvious that it is.  The characters are just awesome, and as someone who's read a fair share of comic books I really appreciate villains like Cassanova Frankenstein and his minions, the Disco Boys.
Some things about this movie aren't really all that funny when you look more closely.  It's hard to laugh at the Spleen for instance when you find out that his actor actually talks like that, apparently.  Also the psychofrakulator's effects on people are too gross to be funny.  Worst of all is the old folks' home in the beginning of the movie... *shudder*.
Still, this movie does come back in spades to make you laugh your ass off time and time again.  The Blue Rajah is the best character because his personality is totally out of left field: I mean, he's a British dude dressed like an Indian who has blue in his name and nowhere else, and he throws forks.  Where the heck did that come from?  More standard are people like the Shoveler and Mr Furious, who are still pretty funny.  Mr Furious is funny because he takes himself so seriously when he obviously sucks, and the Shoveler because he's just an average suburban guy who happens to be a superhero.
Ok, I'm just typing for word count now, so I'll shut up and get right to the quotes:

That little sucker just saved your life.
Sorry, Spleen.  There's not enough beer in the world.
Jeffrey... are you on the marijuana?
Junk it!
Just... go with it.
Yes, you may bring ze brewskies.
No, Dad, he's not a Commie, nor a fruit.
Two hands there, son.
Dad, I'm going into my room with three strange men.
Please forgive my incredultiy, but how can you be certain that you've achieved transparency at all?
Should we knock, or just let ourselves in?
You dress in the manner of a male prostitute.
Your rage will become your master?  That's what you were gonna say, right?  Right?
You want to sit here and play Susie Homemaker all day with Captain Conundrum or do you want to be superheroes?

As you've no doubt guessed by now, quotability goes a long way in making a movie cool... and this movie is definitely quotable... and cool!!
