The Princess Bride This is my favorite book, even though I have never read it. Well, not really, but that's what the author says in the beginning. I've read the "Good Parts" version... has anyone actually seen a copy of the "original Morgenstern"? All joking aside, this is the best book ever written for making references to in, say, a Duel or two (or two two!). There are certain scenes in the book that aren't in the movie but should be, too. The most notable is the Zoo of Death. It's also a lot less written for entertainment and a lot more written for the whole theme of being an old novel written back in the day and revised for modern audiences. Still, the movie's distinct lack of references to filthy stoops means that if you want to complete your Princess Bride education, you should read the book too. The book has some rather lame bits too of course, like the ending of course, and how Buttercup and the Prince actually did get married. Then there's the business of Morgenstern writing all sorts of crap that had to be cut out, which the Goldman thinks is hilarious but I think is lame. He shoulda stuck to Inigo and the good stuff, but then I guess the book would have been lost in the tide of similar books. Yea, now that I think about it the whole Morgenstern thing is pretty cool after all. Let's let a good friend of mine finish this page: Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father.
