"Satan" Claus? Could the jolly spirit of good times and cheer really be the Enemy in disguise? Well... no. But it's fun to pretend that it might be! So here are some "reasons" why Santa is really Satan. 1. Change the name around and you get Satan. 2. He's taking the focus off of Jesus on his birthday. 3. He wears red and smokes a pipe, a symbol of the burning fires of Hell. 4. He's a jolly old elf, an obvious reference to paganism. 5. His reindeer, representing the Apostles, didn't know the way until helped by Rudolph, who is Judas. 6. Or, you could say that Rudolph leading the reindeer represents the Fall of Man. 7. He gives bad kids coal, to represent that they'll be burning in Hell, while bribing good kids with presents to join him. 8. He says he can get the kids anything they desire. 9. He's making a list and checking it twice-once to see if you've crossed your name from the Book of Life, and once to see if you've signed your name in his Black Book. 10. The original poem didn't say "On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer, on Vixen," it said "On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer, on Beelzebub." |
