This is one of those movies that everybody likes, and with good reason: it's hilarious. It's probably the first Mel Brooks movie I saw, and set the precedent for all others. With the exception of Robin Hood: Men in Tights, none of the rest even compare, and even Robin Hood falls short of this beauty.
Like any Mel Brooks movie, youi should be locked up for life if you don't understand a single joke in the movie. Still, it delivers laughs and zaniness aplenty. The performances are great, even by people who would normally piss me off. Who would have thought that Rick Moranis would be such a great choice for playing the Darth Vader character? And of course Bill Pullman rules as the combination Han Solo/Luke Skywalker, but it's John Candy who's stealing the scene as the Chewbacca-like Barf.
So if you're a teenager, or have the sense of humor of a teenager, why not watch this fine movie? You'll get a few chuckles out of it, and it adds to that ever-important base of movie quotes you can stock for all those important occasions you might need them in.
