| Mistakes in The Fifth Element |
| Don't misinterpret this, I love "The Fifth Element;" it's one of my favorite movies, but I just wanted to point out some mistakes in it. Disappearing Champagne When Aknot, disguised as a human, gives Ruby Rhod his champagne glass at the concert hall, he still has three glasses left on the tray. When they show him again, the tray is empty. Fire on Water In the temple at the end, Cornelius picks up the water stone and says, "This one should be fire." Then Korben grabs that stone with the water symbol on it, and the camera changes views. In the next shot, Korben suddenly has the actual fire stone and has to take the water stone from Cornelius. Unbreakable Broken Glass Just before Leeloo punches through the glass in the little chamber she is reconstructed in, you can see the lines where they have cut the glass for her to punch it out. Back to Elizabethan Times? Before Korben leaves his apartment in the morning, you see on the TV that Ruby Rhod will tell you live at 5:00 the name of the winner of the Gemini Croquet contest. When Korben gets home, he eats lunch at his window. His mother calls just as he finishes lunch and tells him that they've been blaring his name out on the radio for the last hour, which would make it 6:00 pm. Why was he eating lunch at this time? I would say that they might call dinner lunch by then, but in Korben's hotel room at Floston Paradise, the hotel room service lady mentions that the airship goes higher at 5 pm to offer you a better view with your dinner. Choking on Air After Zorg makes his famous speech on the chain of life, he picks up a glass of water and a cherry. He puts the cherry in the glass, but when he drinks the water, the cherry is gone. Suddenly, he is choking on the cherry which he did not even eat in the first place. He had had no time to eat it between sentences, so how did it end up in his throat? Not that it Matters; the Ship Blew up Anyway When Ruby Rhod was on the Gemini commercial in the morning, he said that the winner of the contest would join him for 2 days at Floston Paradise. After lunch, when Korben's mom called him, she said that the trip was for 10 days. Not that it matters; the ship blew up the first night anyway... Breaking the Laws of Physics When the hotel ship blows up, you hear the explosion, even from the view from space. It would actually be impossible to hear an explosion in space, because sound can't travel through a vacuum. George Castanza Limp When they first show Zorg walking, they zoom in on his legs, and you hear a clank every time his right leg hits the ground. After that, every time Zorg is walking, the clank is heard on his left leg. Subconscious Attraction When Korben comes to Vito Cornelius's door with Leeloo unconscious in his arms, her left arm is limp. But when he walks in, her arm is suddenly around his shoulder. |

| Camera=Leeloo When Leeloo is standing behind the wall and sees the Mangalores, she has a flashback to when they blew up the Mondochawan ship she was on. They showed in her flashback a shot of the Mangalores at the controls of their firing ships and a shot from far away of the ship blowing up. But Leeloo would not have seen either of these things from these places, nor would she have known what their attackers looked like. |
