Traeus, Triseth, Narith and Mays...and Trouble!

"So exactly how many other brothers and sisters do I have?" Traeus was walking along one of the Warren's paths talking with his older half-brother.

R'nd smiled. "I don't know. A couple I guess."

I thought Weyrwoman's were supposed to be responsible. Triseth bespoke as both of Traeus' bonds came around the corner, dripping wet. They'd been having a bath. By the marks down both of their necks and along their backs they'd been wrestling as well.

She is responsible...sorta...I mean she keeps in contact with all of them...and some of them even know why... Narith liked Magika. She was funny, easy going, and didn't have as many rules as Mystic. Whoever could have guessed that no tracking mud through the main hall was a rule?

Yeah, Traeus added, and who would have thought making the rider clean it up was the punishment?

Narith stuck his tongue out at his rider. Fine, now I'm not telling you what we know.

I will. Triseth offered.

No you won't. Both Traeus and R'nd were forced to take a step back from the ensuing fight. As a result it was Mays, Traeus' ferilon, that finally related the news.

The creature began to bite Traeus' sleave and fingers, pulling him back towards the weyr Mystic had given him and his following. "What is it Mays?" Traeus asked, trying to keep one eye on the dragons, making sure they didn't acutally hurt each other. He wondered if this sort of play-fighting was normal, considering Triseth and Narith seemed to do it everytime they had a disagreement.

"I think she wants you to go back to your weyr..." R'nd suggested.

YES! Both Narith and Triseth yelled at once. The draca egg! It's hatching!

"What?" Traeus was startled. The egg had been given to him only a few days after it had been laid. He'd had to keep it warm and safe from two playful dragons as they all waited for it to hatch.

"What?" R'nd couldn't hear the dragons and had no idea what was going on.

"The egg!" Traeus wasn't sure if he really wanted the thing. Magika insisted it was pure evil, even though she had a draca of her own, and Mystic said he should be very honoured. Triseth and Narith laughed at him whenever he thought about that.

"No rush kiddo." Magika put a hand on his shoulder and tried to steer him away from his weyr and the egg.

Triseth knocked the Weyrwoman with his head, forcing her to let go of her son. Nice try Magika. The blue grabbed her in his teeth, careful not to hurt her, and carried her back to the weyr.

Everyone croweded around the rocking egg, Magika getting a better view than most from her elavated station, and waited for the inhabitant of the spotted egg to make an apperance.

They didn't have to wait very long, the egg had already been rocking for some time when they'd entered. Soon a purple head poked through, followed by a lighted purple neck. The creature creeled and reached out to Traeus with it's mind. Traeus, having impressed Narith and Triseth, was ready for this and smiled. "C'mon, you can do it..."

I know! The draca grunted. But it's hard! It finally pulled it's body out of the egg and collapsed into Traeus' arms, exhausted.

"Woah." R'nd looked over his half-brother's shoulder. "Cool."

"Yeah." Traeus began to feed the tiny creature, much to it's delight. Karia decided to stop in and examine her smaller brother. She also decided to examine his dinner.

"Karia!" Magika called her draca to her shoulder. "Put me down you silly excuse for a blue!"

Triseth dropped her, but Narith caught her. The white set her down more gently on the ground. Magika sighed and sent Karia for Mystic and *shudder* Hope.

The two dragons leaned in to sniff at the creature. So that's a draca... Narith had already seen Hope and Karia, but he felt the need to say something.

No. The draca was only a few minutes old and already sarcastic. I'm a butterfly.

You are not. Triseth informed it, not catching the sarcasm.

The draca cheeped happily, laughing at the blue. Then what am I?

"Trouble." Magika murured. How the Weyrwoman had heard the coversation between the draca and the dragon was anyone's guess, but the name stuck.

"Trouble, Triseth, Narith, Mays and Traeus." Mystic spoke everyname as she signed the papers. "You sure about this?"

Traeus nodded. "I want to go back to Pern...even if I really don't fit in there anymore. This place is really weird."

Mystic smirked. "So's Magika."

Yeah. Trouble agreed. Traeus laughed. "I guess. But I get her weird, your weird is just..." He searched for a word.

Weird?

Thanks Triseth. Traeus rolled his eyes, leaving the sentance hanging.

Mystic smiled. "I understand. Normal isn't exactly...normal around here."

And the world stared in shock the day Common died. Triseth and Trouble laughed at Narith's joke and Traeus tried not to. He stroked Mays' back as they waited for the ink on the transfer papers to dry. Traeus was going to Adanuk Weyr.

"All done." Mystic rolled up the papers and handed them to Traeus. "Have fun. Visit soon."

"Thanks." Traeus tucked the sheets into a riding saddle strapped to Narith. "I will."

As the five lifted off, three of them flying of their own accord, they all heard Hope's voice give a final warning. Just don't bring your mother!
