Keyboard Practice
Using the Keyboard Practice sheet above, children (and adults) can practice typing the correct way.
Print out sheet.
Have your child draw a dark line between the letters T-Y, G-H, B-N going vertically. This splits the keyboard in half for left and right hands
Color letters  Q, A, Z, P  and  ;  and  /   blue
Color letters  W, S, X, O, L  and  .   green
Color letters   E, D, C, I,  J  and   ,   red
Color letters   R, T, Y, U, F, G, H, J, V, B, N  and  M  purple
The fingers on the hand below the keyboard are color coded too, to make this system of  learning simple to follow.
Color fingers 1 & 8 - blue
Color fingers 2 & 7 - green
Color fingers 3 & 6 - red
Color fingers 4 & 5 - purple.

     Positioning hands so that your left hand fingers rest
    on letters A ,S ,D ,F,  .      Your right hand fingers resting
    on letters J , K, L,  ;          This is called HOME ROW.
As noted above each finger is colored to match each key above, enabling typist to remeber which finger should go on each key.
Now they can practice typing anywhere!

    
*NOTE- When typing the "blue" finger is used for the SHIFT key and                               ENTER key. The thumbs are used for the SPACE BAR.
