Manchild is loosely based on the character known as Peter White, a 37-year-old successful makeup artist who returns to his small southern hometown of Garden Hills to confront the tormenters of his youth, a social club made up of five football players named, The Trojans. While living in Garden Hills in the mid 70’s, Peter attended Central High School. While there, the Trojans belittled him mentally and physically. At 5’2, a scrawny Peter was no match for his nemesis. The culmination of Peter’s private hell occurred when the Trojans made him up to look like a little girl and paraded him around the cafeteria, to the delight of the students. Though mentally scarred, Peter would leave Garden Hills to become a successful makeup artist. However, he does return, nineteen years later at the age of 37. Disguised as a 17-year-old, Peter relives his childhood with the teenage children of his tormenters.
