Colonel Une is the militaristic half of Lady Une's personality. She was extremely loyal to Treize Khushrenada, the leader of OZ. Une was a secretary/personal assassin, having dealt with General Septum and Vice Foreign Minister Dorlian.
After she went into space to unite the colonies with OZ, her other personality made itself known. This personality-kind, peace-loving Saint Une-was loved by the leaders of the colonies, and they quickly joined OZ and turned against the Gundams.
Lady Une's two personalities eventually combined, and she saved Duo's and Wufei's lives after realizing what they actually fought for. She was shot by Tsubarov, chief engineer of the mobile dolls, after realizing what they actually fought for. She survived, however, because of Tsubarov's terrible aim, and would have lived a happy life with Treize, if it weren't for his untimely demise.
Lady was a woman of strength for her ability to handle herself in any situation that fate threw at her, including the death of Treize. Especially the death of Treize. A weaker-willed woman would have given into hysteria and refused to accept the fact that the man she loved was dead, and would've done something drastic (Use your imagination). As it was, Une kept herself composed; something Treize would've been proud of, since he was always telling her to be more graceful.
She sided with the Gundam pilots after Treize's death.
