2. ALTHOUGH, the main purpose of this site is to expose the talents of brilliant writers, so you MAY submit any non-Gundam Wing fics you have, like stuff that deals with your life, or the real world. Or a diary of your life. Something like that.
3. Make sure that the stuff you send in is non-yaoi. I made an exception to DC Logan, though. It's shounen-ai.
4. PLEASE, PLEASE, run your fics through a spell checker. PLEASE. I've had to correct some fics where Heero was spelled Herro, and stuff like that. It's kind of annoying.
Also, proper grammar helps, too. If you don't want to grammar-check your fic, try and get someone whose grammar is good to check your fics. And if you don't wanna hassle yourself, I won't make you run your fics through a grammar-checker; those kinda suck. Send them in, and I'll see what I can do.
Punctuate and capitalize properly, too, please.
I'm sorry, but I HAVE to say this. If you DO submit anything with every other word misspelled, improper grammar, NO punctuation and capitalization, I WILL reject it, send it back to you and ask you to correct it.
And, the format.
Sometimes, when I ask for fics and people send them to me, the format's pretty screwed up. Proper formatting enhances the readability of fics, and it's technically more pleasing to the reader. Put paragraphs when and where they are needed. It'd also lessen my workload, too. And I'd SO appreciate it.
Wrong formatting/presentation:
Duo Heero said nudging the braided boy beside him Duo said nothing but rocked back and forth in his seat slowly Maxwell doesnt usually act like this Wufei said maybe we should they take him to the psychiatrist Quatre added and Trowa being Trowa said nothing
Compared to:
"Duo," Heero said, nudging the braided boy beside him.
Duo said nothing, but rocked back and forth in his seat slowly.
"Maxwell doesn't usually act like this," Wufei said.
"Maybe we should take him to the psychiatrist," Quatre added.
And Trowa, being Trowa, said nothing.
SEE THE DIFFERENCE???
What is decent formatting? Proper separation of paragraphs. Liberal use of indentation and white space. In other words, start a new paragraph everytime there is a new speaker. Start a new paragraph everytime you switch main ideas.
5. Acceptable file types for fics are plain text or html.
6. I think I'm starting to sound like a broken record here, but, please also include the title of your fic, the synopsis (50 words or less), the genre/s, and your rating. Also, how to contact you, and if you have a URL, include it.
