Each performance was well oversold, thank you for all your support. Brown Bag A Brown Bag was held January 31, 2003 in the Kirby Garden Room at UMD from noon until 1:00PM. Actresses from the play along with Jean Baribeau-Thoennes from UMD Health Services presented infornmation and discussion on eating disorders and women's body image issues. The Brown Bag was also well attended, and sponsored by UMD Commission on Women, Stage II, UMD Health Services, Women's Resource and Action Center, and KAP. Additional Funding A generous grant was given to Stage II for this production from the UMD Commission on Women. Through the efforts and dedication of Sally Cayan and Jean Baribeau-Thoennes, this grant was proposed and awarded to provide additional support to the production and to allow the opportunity for the Brown Bag. Thank you. Advertizing/Additional Support Production posters were displayed at various locations on UMD campus and Duluth businesses including Pizza Luce, Electric Fetus, and Ragstock. Lisa Johnson, Morning Host and Producer of KUMD Radio, interviewed director Amanda Hinkle about the play Friday January 31, 2003. "Turn Beauty Inside Out" T-shirts from New Moon were sold, and free CDs of music from the performance were given out at promotion tables at UMD the week of performances, at the Brown Bag, and again at the encore performance. "The Most Massive Woman Wins" was featured in the Spring 2003 "Experience UMD Culture" cultural events calender. The Performances and Brown Bag were advertized in the UMD Statesman and the Duluth News Tribune. |
