| Annie Ragsdale - Rennie As an actor and as a woman, being in this play was very difficult. I remember the first week of rehearsal, I would stand on a stage and read what I thought were just lines from a script. I knew eating disorders we terrible problems, but I never could have imagined to what extent. While doing research, I read stories from dozens of women/young girls who suffered from bulimia. The hate each one of these women felt about themselves astounded me. I think I can sum up this hate with a quote from a bulimic woman named Jamie I came across.. "This is a reason to hate myself. It's my revenge on the world but I am the hostage." |
