But as I asked on my first page "what are you doing?" here I will begin to document what I am doing.
I'm a very busy person, but I find ways to get involved and help my blessed planet whenever possible.
Step # 1: Don't litter. And give a "stern talking" to anyone who does! Hey, I've changed a few lives that way and the earth is a wee-bit cleaner for it. If my 5 year old goddess-daughter can pick up litter during her recess break because she thinks it makes the earth ugly... so can you!
Step # 2: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. In that order. People always focus on recycling - which is great - but if you can reduce the amount of "stuff" you use (like packaging) in the first place, it won't even have to be made. And don't be lazy about recycling. Just becuase there is no recycling bin next to you doesn't mean you have to throw it in the garbage. You wouldn't throw it on the ground if there was no bins at all would you? (You'd better say no - otherwise send me an e-mail so I can berate you!!)
Step # 3: Compost. I just started my first vermicomposter. (I've wanted to for a long while, but have been moving every couple months.) I will eventually give more info on vermicomposting (and photos - I like pictures), but if you are interested right now I recommend a google search.
Why? Well, I do it because I love the earth and its beautiful diversity. It's time we stop acting as if humans are the only organisms (with any value) on the planet. It's time to respect all of our neighbours.
