I cannot remember a time in my life when I wasn't surrounded by music. I still recall being a toddler listening to the little robin music box my mother had (and I now have) play "Memory" from Cats. It was probably my first real introduction to music. Nowadays I simply cannot endure silence. It's suffocating. So I play music almost constantly. When there's nothing playing outside, there's something in my head. So, considering this is such a vital part of me, I gave it a page. Enjoy.
I play bass clarinet and trumpet actively. I started on the soprano clarinet, but decided I really truly hated it after trying the bass. My trumpet playing only just kicked off, and thus I don't play so well. But I love it, and that's what matters in music.
I also write music for my instruments. Typically I use Finale Notepad since I can see exactly what I'm doing and play it at any time so I can hear if it sucks or not. Plus, the program's free, which is great for those of us with a teeny tiny budget.
As for my listening tastes, I listen to almost everything. The only music I cannot abide is rap and hip-hop. You can see this if you listen to my Yahoo! station here and at every music note on the site, with the exception of the one right here.

This is the YCL-622 II, my instrument of choice. Beautiful thing, it is. I've played one for three years and absolutely love it. The keys are comfortable, the floorpeg adjusts for height, and it produces a very nice sound. Wonderful. Expensive, but wonderful.
Sadly, partially due to the fact I bought it on ebay, I have no idea what kind or trumpet I own. All it has on it is a little seal with "Lafayette" in the center by the bell. The mouthpiece isn't even labeled as to what size it is.
