Timeline: 1 Aug 1990: Saddam invades Kuwait 12 Nov 1990: 3 Armored Division Band notified of depoloyment and put on alert status 28 Dec 1990: Band leaves Frankfurt on XXX airline, stopping in XXX, Italy, and arriving in Dahran, Saudi Arabia on 29 Dec 1990 17 Jan 1991: War begins; Operation Desert Shield becomes Operation Desert Storm 25 Jan 1991: Band moves from port in Dammam to base 30 miles from King Khalid Military City (KKMC) 25 Feb 1991: 3rd Armored Division Band plays on Iraq-Saudi border as division goes into Iraq 10 May 1991: Returned to Frankfurt, Germany
