| Feb. 18, 2003 Well, my first attempt at doing this page failed, and I lost all my stuff. I hope this page goes better. Ok, Today after work I went to an early dinner at On The Border mexican cafe with two girls from work. There's been a LOT of in office tension, and the three of us FINALLY cleared the air. That felt great. THEN, I get home and my mom had left a voicemail at 5:36pm. I listened to the message and she said that a Jenny Kearney or a Ginny Kearney had called. WELL, I knew right away it was Ginny Kearney from Weight For Life. My mom thought it was the doctors office calling and she called me right away to let me know that Ginny didn't have my new number. I forgot that Mike & I had moved since I turned in my paperwork last summer. I had a different job, a different address, and a different number. So my mom called and left a message with my new number. The voicemail went on to say that Ginny wanted me to call her tomorrow. Well, since it was 5:50pm here when I called out to WFL to speak to Ginny. Luckily, California is 2 hours behind us, so it was only 3:50pm there. I was able to speak to her and she got my new phone number, new address, and the name & address of my new company. She then went on to let me know that UHC authorized my surgery!! So this is what it feels like to be approved! What a rush! What a high! So, she told me my case worker would be Tierney and that I would need to call her to get a list of psychologists for the MMPI & psych test I would need, and of course I would have to see Dr. Hart again (the pulmonologist), and of course I would have to call Olga and schedule a consult. Well, my consult is a week from tomorrow. It's on Wed. Feb 26th with Dr. James Kane Jr. From what Mike tells me, Dr. Kane Jr. will be my surgeon as well. I will go for the lap RNY. Ginny said that she could try to get my scheduled in May or June, but she's not promising anything. Hey, no problem! I'm just extremely happy to get THIS far. And in such a short time, too! I mean my paperwork was originally sent to WFL last June, and then I quit my job and got a new one. Got awesome UHC insurance, got my updated paperwork faxed to UHC on Feb. 12th, 2003 and three business days later I got approved! WHOOHOO!!!!!!!!!! I was approved yesterday, but got the call today. OMG, I'm SO excited! I'm one step closer to getting my life back!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More details as I schedule stuff. |
