7am, 1st Febuary 1995, Richey Edwards goes missing from the Embassy Hotel, Bayswater Road, London. He gets into his modest silver Vauxhall Cavalier and heads west. To this day, he has not been seen since. Well not officially anyway. Richey has been missing for 7 years now and has been announced by the courts as dead. But nobody really knows Richeys where abouts.

The band were due to fly out that afternoon from heathrow Airport to the US to promote their most recent album. But Richey had gone and the bands manager Martin Hall informs the Police. Richeys family place adverts in local papers asking for Richey to return. Nothing is heard from Richey.

Richey had suposedly been seen in South Wales Newport at the passport office and later on a fan sees him at Newport bus station. This is only 5 days after his disaperence. Richeys car is abandoned at a local suicide point in South Wales with a flat battery on 14th Febuary. Many bodies have disapered from here previously. Reports say Richey had left his prozac and passport behind.

Alot of people say Richey had preformed an act of suicide, before his disaperence the signs were there that Richey would have been capable of taking his own life. But he is then reported as being seen in India.

The Manic Street Preachers make an offical statement that they are going to stay together as a band and on 15th April 1996 'A design for Life' is released. There is lots of evidend that Richey had commited an act of suicide, but if he had surely there would have been a body reported? It's hard to decide what happened to Richey, he was intelligent, clever, he knew what he belived in. And i'm sure whatever he is doing and wherever he is, he is happy.
