The following list of Channel rules for #manila have been put in place to protect the genuine channel user from unwanted hostilities,advertisements & malicious files. #manila channel is rated G for all family members.
1: No swearing, obscenities, or vulgarities.
2: No sexually explicit or obscene nicks.
3: No advertising of any sort or Mass Invites this includes mass advertising and invites of #manila channel to other channels. Some in Channel advertising will be allowed providing channel founder has agreed.
4: No autogreets on join or exit, No auto messages on the channel and turn off lagg detectors before joining
5: No background colour or underline on normal text.
6: No usage of CAPS, Caps are considered as Yelling!!
7: No harassing of the OPs ( That WILL get you kicked/banned )
8: No rudeness toward other users or obnoxious behavior.
9: No bad remarks about a user's ethnics, morals,religious beliefs or sexual preferences.
10: Do not ask or beg for OPs.. We do the choosing!
11: No Flooding with text, action, ASCII characters,ASCII art or nick changes. Repeat Text Maximum of 2 lines.
12: No Nuking, icmp's or portscanning. Warning to offenders some operator's script auto trace your attempts and auto send to the authorities.
*We (the operators) have the right to kick/ban anyone if we feel that you have not followed these rules.
Note: All kicks are accompanied with a ban ranging from 30 seconds and upwards.
*Operators are required use your original nick while you're opped inside the channel. If you are using another nick do not op in #manila and set yourself to voice (+v)if you want to. It is ok to use explanations on the end of your nick whilst opped. Eg: boomerang-away , boomerang-afk, bommerang-busy, boomerang-whatever. Revenge kicks, friend protect scripts and kick on another persons ban scripts not allowed and will result in instant op access removal.
Script Settings
*Text Flood: 5 lines of text within 4 seconds equals 5 minute ban.
*Long Text Flood: set to 300 letters of text equals 5 minute ban.
*Repeat Text: 3 lines of repeat text within 60 seconds equals 1 minute ban.
*Swear: Bad words equals 10 minute ban, not so bad words equals 5 minute ban.
*Web,Server and Channel Advertising: equals minimum 30 minute ban.
*Caps Locked Text: Warn first time, Second time within 30 seconds equals 1 minute ban.
*Mass Invites: equals minimum 60 minute ban.
*Mass Ctcp's: directed at channel equals minimum 30 minute ban.
*Nick Flood: 3 nick changes in 15 seconds equals 5 minute ban.
*Join Part Flood: 3 joins within 8 seconds equals 5 minute ban.
*Ctrl Codes: 100 codes equals 60 second ban.
*Sound: directed at channel equals 2 minute ban.
Requirements to become OP on #manila:
New OP's are chosen: New candidates are nominated based on the user's character, presence, morals, and participation on the channel. If a SOP determines you are a good choice, The SOP will then confirm with the Founder and if agreed by the Founder, - - you will be evaluated, trained, and tested. After successful completion of this period, you will be required to send your private information to the Founder by email and upon receipt of your email and all details are confirmed, you will be OP'ed. Personal details required in email to founder are: Full Name...Intended nickname whilst op on #manila....Your current address.... Your Telephone number....Your ISP providers Company name...and your email address....No HP based email addresses accepted. State why you feel you should be an OP on #manila and state your experience.
As of 27th July 2001, AOL account holders will not be considered for op status on #manila. Any IP account that can not be verified by an ISP provider home page will not be considered aswell. marjorie@optushome.com.au
