Deadline: Dec 31, 2005 (Poetrybooks published from 2004 to 2005)
Winners Announced on March 2, 2006.
1. The Angus Prize for Poetry is given to the poet who excels in poetry. The poet must have published at least 3 full-length poetry book within the 10 year timeframe 1995-2005.
2. Submit AT LEAST two different titles of your full-length poetrybooks for evaluation to the postmail address of Manila Review.
3. Submit a reading fee/entry fee of 20$ for every full-length poetry book to be considered for the prize.
Example:
1 poetry book x $20 = $20
2 poetry books x $15 = $30 (discounted)
3 poetry books x $15 = $45 (discounted)
4. Poetrybooks must be published WITHIN 10 years of the prize to be considered for the Prize for a certain year..
Example:
Angus Prize 2006 will consider poetrybooks published from 1995 to 2005.
Angus Prize 2007 will consider poetrybooks published from 1996 to 2006.
5. The entry fee/reading fee of 20$ is good for ten years. The entry fee/reading fee includes:
a. subscirption of print edition of Manila Review.
b. 4 months advertisement in online magazine.
6. Full length poetry books must be at least 70 pages.
7. Poets with or without background in Creative Writing may join or apply for the award..
8. Chapbooks are not allowed.
9. Poetry Anthologies i.e. poetrybooks with different authors cannot be considered.
10. The prizes are the following: medals, trophies, plaques, laurel leaf (cash if we find the sponsors).
11. Decision of the panel or judge is final.
12. Rules can be expanded to enhance the judging/ selection process..
