MANILA, January 5, 2004 -- The World Bank, in partnership with the National 
Anti-Poverty Commission, and several other civil society organizations, 
donors, and the private sector, will hold the 1st Development Innovation 
Marketplace Philippines, dubbed "Panibagong Paraan," at the SM Megatrade Hall, 
SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City on January 9-10, 2004. Panibagong Paraan, with 
the theme "Making Services Work for the Poor," is a pioneering competition 
among civil society organizations that will award start up grants to projects 
that implement innovative ideas to make services work for the poor. 

MWF member Nikki Sayres encourages us to stop by Community and Family 
Services International’s booth (she is working for them as the Advisor for 
Policy and Planning) showcasing their Educational Reconstruction in Mindanao 
project, which is one of the finalists in the competition.
