| Manita-Fernando de Plata Jr. is, quite simply, the BEST artist to come out of the beautiful Camargue area of Southern France in a very long time. The youngest son of the world famous Camargue flamenco guitarist Manitas de Plata, he has clearly inherited all the skill, passion, and awe-inspiring genious of his father. Manita-Fernando is of pure Gitano (Gypsy) blood and proud to be so. For Gitanos, family is everything and together with other members of his extensive family, Manita-Fernando has formed the group "Las Guitarras". Together they peform all over the world and thrill their audiences wherever they go. More recently they have produced their first CD "Rêves d'enfants" which is a superb showcase for the versatility and talent of this group and of the brilliance of Manita-Fernando's guitar in particular. |

| Well, because the music he plays is completely unadorned with the trappings of techno wizardry. This is the music that started the Gipsy Kings on the road to fame and fortune but Manita-Fernando has kept the form pure, unadulterated, natural and above all beautiful. Of course, quite apart from his ability to transport his audience to worlds of beauty and inspiration, Manita-Fernando himself is one of the sweetest people on the planet. Generous, amusing, kind and loving, he makes me so proud to be able to call him friend. |

| There are, of course, other great Camargue flamenco artists around. The most famous group is, undoubtedly, The Gipsy Kings. But Manita-Fernando and Las Guitarras are, for me personally, the ultimate, the best. |
