Hands-on Projects

Summary

Have been working on various projects for individuals and organizations including Website development – layout, content management, graphics and media, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript coding etc. along with other small projects in Excel Macros, PHP, ASP etc. Also provide consultation on related projects on ad-hoc basis. Below are a few examples of work undertaken.

Projects/ Organization worked for
  • ANERI: Worked on various aspects of the website including but not limiting to a customized internal Search Utility and a Map of Europe (SWF) using Macromedia Flash, along with ASP, JavaScript, VBScript and XML.
  • ECAN: Worked on various aspects of the website including but not limiting to a customized Online Databank Utility based on PHP 5 and MySQL.
  • Bright sun Travel: Developed a MS Excel Macros utility to extract selective data from an existing MS Excel report and generate another customised report, dealing with large quantities of data.
  • Inventory Control: A two-tier application with Front-end as C++ (Unix Based) and Back-end as Sybase. A Database management utility for a fictitious departmental store, with a view to aid in recording their day-to-day transactions and maintaining information about the Suppliers and Inventory Level. With the provision for generating reports like the Stock Availability Report.
  • Office Organizer: Project in Turbo C++, as a part of the computer training, aimed to aid businessmen in management of their daily routines, with features like Address Book, Notepad, Calculator, Financial Calculator and provisions for generating Bar Graphs and Pie Charts in colour.

Summary

Worked productively to design, develop and document a Debt Management Utility in VB .Net, ASP .Net and SQL Server 2000. The windows based software version titled “White Water Projects” would greatly enhance the processing time and performance output of the employees in tasks like Client Details Management, Payment Transactions, Data Analysis and Customized Reports.

Responsibilities and Achievements
  • Developing oncoming projects on VB .Net, ASP. Net and SQL Server 2000
  • Coordinated team meetings, developed agendas, and monitored project timeline.
  • Up keeping ongoing system changes/maintenance (business oriented change requests)
  •  Primary resource for the ongoing projects to Enhance and Redesign/Develop the Debt Management Utility.
  • Use of 3rd Party ASP.Net Components with Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 integrating it into the current project.
  • Development for IPG Internet Payment Gateway.

  • IPG Payment Gateway: Successfully undertook planning, designing, documenting, developing and deploying IPG Payment Gateway.

  • Debt Management Utility: A VB .Net based Desktop utility and ASP.Net based Web Application for our Employees and Clients respectively.
  • Technology: ASP.Net Using VB.Net and SQL Server Databases.

Summary

Working on a project for a telecom giant in USA called Sprint PCS, implemented my troubleshooting skills whilst improving my communication and inter-personal skills.

Summary

Working with a team of 10 people, on multiple projects, I gained valuable exposure and experience of the software industry. We handled projects for reputed companies like India Today, Personal Creations etc. This presented me with an opportunity to be a part of a complete PDLC and acquire a clearer picture of the process and roles of the team members.

Summary

Working in a team of 6 people for a USA based IT Company, I learnt the importance of teamwork. As a part of the team, I helped in conducting research on Emerging Technologies, performing Feasibility and Adaptability Analysis for formulating future strategies. Even thought it was a short-term contract, I gained precious knowledge of the prevailing IT market, including Hardware and Software trends.
