Poetry
my poetry
I write poetry for many reasons. Mostly I just do it to get it
out of my head without loosing it. Inspiration is a very strange thing.
Sometimes it's nothing more than a few phrases I come up with walking around
campus or such. Sometimes it's a full blow epic, spawned by something unfathomable.
I never know what will hit me or when. I write rather sporatically. I may
write nothing for many months, then sit down one day and churn out several
pages.
(My Finale Requiem was written not merely in one day, but all
at once. I sat on my bed for about five to seven hours, and did nothing
but work on it. It took so long because I had to edit it so much to get
it just right.)
Some of my poems are really songs, but I lack any musical skills.
I cannot read, play, or particularly sing music. Unfortunately most of the
tunes get forgotten because of this, but I try to preserve the words. Some
have become much better poems than songs. So far, only a fragment of my
poetry is online. But, you aren't missing much. I don't write all that much
poetry. And, I tend to put up my best stuff. (Except what I consider too
private.)
So, please feel free to read my poetry. There's probably nothing
in this website that will tell you more about me...
