Straight From the Heart

Part 2

I need to think about this, so I decide to amuse myself with a flight around the town. What's it called again?

Spring-something. I can't remember. Boring, boring , boring I think as I take a look around. I take note of the interesting residents, jotting down who needs help and who doesn't. Note to self: Reva doesn't need anymore arrows ever. I think six marriages is enough. Another note to self: priest named Ray looks promising.

I head back over to Danny's house, intending to check out the situation. Perhaps I can maneuver an "accidental" meeting in the bedroom for him and Michelle. My job will be done in ten seconds if I can arrange that.

To my disgust, Michelle isn't even living there. What is that boy thinking? I know the course of true love never did run smooth or whatever the saying is, but this is ridiculous.

He's talking to his mother. Now there's a woman who needs a hobby. I watch Danny while she talks, formulating a plan. Suggest dinner, I think, and Carmen says "Danny, we need to have a business dinner tonight. Talk about the upcoming shipment." Danny says "ok" and Carmen nods, saying "Good." After Danny leaves, she looks around, clearly disturbed. "Why the hell did I say that?" she asks. I know, I shouldn't meddle directly, but come on, how can I resist?

Getting Michelle to the Towers is a little harder. Her brother is a very stubborn man. Finally, out of desperation, I go to see Michelle's ex-boyfriend, Jesse. He's really easy to manipulate.

Ten seconds later, Jesse has convinced Drew that they need to go to dinner at the Towers, and wouldn't it be nice if Michelle joined them. Note to self: Drew is wasted on that Jesse kid, needs someone new.

Michelle agrees to go with them to dinner. I rub my hands together. Ah, love.

Carmen and Danny arrive at the Towers and sit down. Danny is distracted. I fly in for a closer look. Oh good, he's distracted by thoughts of Michelle. Things couldn't be going more smoothly. Cue Michelle's entrance...

and there she is. I can feel the chemistry between them all the way up here. How can these two still be apart? If I didn't know better, I'd suspect outside intervention...

Michelle stares at Danny while she sits down, and Danny stares back at her. I chuckle. Now for the ultimate move. I call in my sidekick, and send him a message. "You know what to do" I tell him.

My sidekick walks into the restaurant and goes over to Carmen's table. "What is it Dietz?" she asks irritably. "Sorry Boss," he says. "There's a problem, and it's urgent." She sighs and tells Danny "I'll be right back." Left unspoken is the "For God's sake, stay away from that Bauer girl."

Dietz looks up and winks at me. I roll my eyes. Sidekicks are such show-offs. Ok, you two I think, looking at Danny and Michelle, here goes nothing....
