DIGITAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT TEAM

'No Tools, No Training, No Fear'.

Just like in Questroniz, the life blood of DEC or Digital is its technical team. In the beginning after the reorganization of 1994, the only two people that populated Technical Support is myself and Diana Dela Rosa.

Diana started in Digital since 1990. She is by now a full decade in her first job. Today, she reaches the top post in the country as the Professional Services Manager, a well deserved post after serving for several years as the Technical Support Supervisor, then Manager. The team that went into the merger is shown below.

Of this team, Diana lost four including myself to assume new roles.

What you see here is the core of the technical team. I was the only one who moved out of Diana's team to become a one man team for the Application Porting center. Mike Canlas, is the guy from Online Advanced Systems versed in UNIX. Rayman Despojo is the guy from MISNet, versed in Windows. Bong Bravo, who came from the end user side, just before he left for Chicago post-merger, was the team's StorageWorks and SQL/NT guy.

These are the S.T.A.R.S. They were bright college graduates who qualified for a one year training in Digital, mostly done in the US. Why didn't they thought of that when I got hired? Karen Uy, just before she joined CA with Ronald De Guzman, her boyfriend, was the team's Internet and ISP expert; Humprey Sy, the top guy from the batch, is now the teams' SAP and ERP expert; and Veronica 'Bambi' Abad, now Mrs. Escalante, formerly is the team's Mail and Messaging expert, but she has now assumed the role of Product Marketing for Proliant servers.

The whole team pre-merger ...
