San Andres Congregation

This is the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for the San Andres congregation in Manila. It was built about 1997. Its address is 2338 Concha Street, San Andres Bukid, Manila.

This is actually the second hall in the same lot. The first hall was a renovated factory made out of wooden structure bought in 1986. After 10 years, the hall needed major repairs and it was decided to build a new hall instead. It has a seating capacity of 150 in the second floor. It has additional 50 seating capacity in the ground floor.

For the previous decade, the congregation shared with the Paco congregation Paco's Kingdom Hall found in the corner of the South Super-Hiway and Pres. Quirino Avenue.

Previous to that, the San Andres congregation has its Kingdom Hall in the ground floor of the Cortez residence in Radium Street. Prior to that the Kingdom Hall in the 1960's was at the Castrudes residence. The very first hall was at the corner of Augusto Francisco and Concha Streets, which is why it is said that the hall returned to its roots.

It was during the late 80's when the congregation grew to a point where it was decided we needed to split it into two congregations - the San Andres and the Onyx congregations. San Andres, the mother congregation hold its meetings in the following schedule at the Kingdom Hall

The brothers found in the photo are from what would become the two congregations. These fine young men have become elders and ministerial servants today for the two congregations.
