| Synopsis: After her narrow escape from Captains Mansel and Vaughn, Imperial Captain Myrett Stevens has rebuilt her small fleet of ships and is ready to commence her assault upon the UNSF boarder territories. Once again, the crews of the two Explorers reunite along with the USS Bastard Sword to put a final end to Chalky the Imperial Menace. |

"Mortal Vow" Commander-in-Chief Story’s office 13:42 SET 2195 “She’s back.” “Who’s back?” Captain Mansel joked. “Your ex- wife?” Despite the seriousness of the situation, Story had to smile. “No. Stevens is back.” “Stevens?” asked Captain Vaughn. “As in Myrett Stevens?” “Exactly.” “So she’s back, huh?” Mansel asked, leaning back in his chair. “Are we reassigned to the case?” “Yes. From his top drawer, Admiral Story pulled out a photograph and slid it across the table. Both starship captains went for it, but Vaughn got there first. “Intelligence managed to get this photo of her,” the Admiral continued. “Also, they were able to find out that she’s got her own small fleet of ships under her command.” “Is she going for the boarder systems again?” Mansel asked, taking the picture from Vaughn. “We don’t know for sure, but that’s my guess,” was the answer he got from the C-in-C. “It’s your job to find out.” “Yet again,” said Captain Vaughn. “This time, I’m giving you some help,” Story continued, pushing a button on his desk. “Send him in.” “Finally, someone answers my call for backup,” Captain Vaughn commented as the door opened. Yet another starship captain strolled into the room-- Captain Mike Sellers of the Bastard Sword. |
