In the trees, Mansel, Brungess, and Meelan lurked, guns at the ready.  They’d managed to sneak past most the perimeter guards, downing those that proved not so easy to slip by.

“It’s three versus about fifty,” Meelan commented.  “That’s about sixteen and two thirds people each.  Not good numbers.”

“Two thirds?” Brungess asked.  “How do you shoot two thirds of a person?”

Meelan shrugged.  “I dunno,” he confessed, straightening his tie.  “Shoot them in the kneecaps, I suppose.”

Mansel was paying their conversation no attention.  He was focused on the quickest way to get in, get Lieutenant Patterson, and get out.  This would prove difficult indeed.  He took his hat off and tossed it to the side.  He wouldn’t be needing that any longer.  Brungess and Meelan did the same.

“There,” said Mansel, pointing to an open window on one side of the building. “That’s our entry point.”

Brungess nodded.  “Good.  We pop whoever’s inside and invite ourselves in.  We gotta keep this quite, like.”

Meelan checked both his silencer and his flash suppressor.  “I’m ready.”

“Brungess nodded.  “Me too.”

“Alright then,” said Mansel.  “Let’s go.
