hey guys, we are just in the midst of winter, getting school canceled because of the cold. but who says the harsh weather can't be fashionable?

1. start from your head working your way down.. no one wants to wear the hat your grandma knit you for christmas (unless your grandma is very stylish) yet they don't want their ears to freeze off so designers have taken the old school grandma hat look and made it very fashionable.

2. these are so not your mothers scarfs...
scarfs, they are the reason your neck stays warm in the snow, but now more than ever they're a BIG fashion accessory.. wear them with your coat and mittens or wear them with a tee and jeans, either way they are sure to make a huge statement.

3. musts for protecting your manicure...
the cold weather does a damage on your hands so why not save your manicure and look cute too. stay away from those mittens that "convert" into gloves they just aren't stylish, instead go with either a glove or mitten.. not BOTH.

4. turtle-necks aren't for covering hickeys...
they actually make nice sweaters. but those aren't your only choices, skip the boring plain sweaters and head for bright patterns or cable knits.. you can stay warm and be the talk of school.

5. yet another way to stay warm...
this season it's all about the desconstructed blazer and NOT the poofy parka. whether you wear them long or short, with a sweater or t-shirt they look good on all shapes and sizes.

6. sometimes you should cover up your "assets"..
just because it's winter doesn't mean you have to wear pants. this season skirts WITH tights look amazing, as long as you don't wear neon green ones (whatever you read, MOD is NOT in).

7. an outfit isn't complete without accessories...
and you thought the scarves and gloves were the accessories, you're wrong. the winter season brings in a whole new line of purses, this winter fur purses, are very in, whether they be faux fur or not they look good with everything.

8. and you thought i forgot the shoes...
ok so you know you can't wear those open toed shoes in the dead of winter, so what can you wear?! don't answer with sneakers. there are many different kinds of boots that work for winter. stick with darker colors like brown and black because the match with more winter colors. but of course you can't wear stilletos in the snow, a stylish snow boot would be a better choice.
