Lee Lung Chi

Praying Mantis Shifu

The information presented in this chart was collected from different sources -see Bibliography-, therefore the romanizations in Pinyin according to the Mandarin pronunciation of the characters sometimes is not available. If you find any mistakes or inaccuracies please contact me.

His name is also romanized as:
Li Wing Kai.
Shifu Lee Lung Chi was one of the introductors of Tang Lang Quan in Brazil.
His main style is Northern Eagle Claw and he is an official representative of the style in South America, but he also taught some Praying Mantis simultaneously.
Shifu Lee Lung Chi trained formally Mei Hua Tang Lang Quan under shifu Zhang Fu Chen and informally Qi Xing Tang Lang Quan under shifu Yuan Wen Jie. Shifu Yuan Wen Jie taught shifu Lee Lung Chi Qi Xing Tang Lang Quan forms in exchange of Eagle Claw Boxing techniques. Shifu Yuan Wen Jie did not teach him any weapon's forms.
For many years shifu Lee Lung Chi taught Mei Hua Tang Lang Quan as a complement of Qi Xing Tang Lang Quan (teaching it to instructors only). Around 2004 he started teaching some groups Mei Hua Tang Lang Quan only.
Shifu Lee Lung Chi has formed many praying mantis intructors but due to cross training his tang lang quan has a strong Eagle Claw flavor. In addition, the weapons' forms trained in his school are the Jing Wu or Eagle Claw Boxing ones (not traditional praying mantis).
For many years shifu Lee Lung Chi has worked hard to participate on international gong-fu federations and he has formed referees and boxers that have represented well Brazil and South America in international competitions.
