Freak Of Nature
Lyrics:
They call me names
I won't play their games
They look down at me
But a blind man can't see
CHORUS:
I can't help being a freak of nature
All I'm seeing is a freak of nature
No use fleeing a freak of nature
I can't help being a freak of nature
BRIDGE:
I can't breathe
But I can see
That I'm so free!
I'm glad I'm not "cool"
I'm glad I'm no fool
Don't care what they say
Don't care and that's OK
CHORUS
BRIDGE
I'm a freak, I'm a poseur
I'm a sentimental lover
I'm a man, not a child
Not a slave of another
I'm on my own
I'm all alone
I'm a geek, I'm a loser
I'm an ornamental lover
I'm a man, not a pawn
Not a slave of another
I'm on my own
I'm all alone
CHORUS
Freak of nature x4

COMMENTS:
"This is the first song I ever started writing, and the last I finished before the Glass Prison sessions - it took me 4 years to finish it. We named it 'Freak of Nature' to joke about the silverchair influence that was prevailant in the band's sound (and not in a good way, because we suck and silverchair rules). The riff was written all the way back in 8th grade, so it's brutally simple, but effective and energetic. I added the vocals, the chorus, and the middle part the week before we hit the studio for Glass Prison, it was a real last-minute thing. Lyrically, it's just my declaring that I could give a fuck what others think about me. It's basically my little quasi-anthem about not being socially accepted, and how I feel sorry about those who spend so much to be "cool". Trying to be "cool" is such a waste of time on such a superficial status."
