Haven't Seen Your Eyes

Lyrics:

Sitting all alone, sitting by the phone
At least for now I'm on my own
Thinking all my thoughts, dreaming all my dreams
At least for now it's nothing as it seems
The girl I love, she just doesn't know
Should I stay or should I go?
Confused with life, unknown is my fate
At least for now I'm too confused to hate

BRIDGE:
It's not fair
But you don't care
And it's not fair

CHORUS:
Because I haven't seen your eyes for a while
And I haven't seen enough of you
No I haven't seen your eyes for too long
And you haven't felt my touch

I long for those nights
When my heart would be at ease
I'd let in a little moonlight
Just to watch you breathe
(REPEAT)

BRIDGE
CHORUS X2

COMMENTS:

"It's one of the more mature composition that I've written. It's vaguely dark and uses some different chords, one of them I've never seen before. The solo is very poppy, it's a real pop song all together. Which is expected, considering it's the third song I ever wrote. It's the one acoustic song on the album, and almost didn't become a "Mantra" song. I had recorded this on my multi-track tape recorder at home, and it was in the player when Justin put on the headphones to test it out. He said he really loved the song, and if he hadn't played it, it wouldn't have been on the album, because it's not the type of song I'd bring to rehearsal for us to work on. Which never actually happened anyway, because it's not a full-band song. It's influenced a lot by Live, which is a band that I really respect for how heavy their quiet, intimate moments can be."
