Rebuilding my Life I stayed at the Womens Shelter in my area for almost 45 days. I was just to afraid to venture out on my own, nor did I have the rescources to set up a house again, which meant I would have to buy everything over again as when I left my abuser I only took the clothes I had and a few other personal items, I wanted no reminder of this man that had tramutized my life. I rented a room from a wonderful woman for a little over Two years until I felt that I was strong enough mentally and physically to be on my own. Then a very close friend of mine gave me a mobile home and all I had to do was pay to have it set up. I found a place in the country where I felt I wouldn't be found again by my abusive husband and I had always wanted to live in the country ever since I was a small child..... I'm still living in the country in the same place I put my mobile home. The road to rebuilding my life has not been an easy one at all. There've been many rough times for me, but I know that I'm free from the abuse I suffered through for almost 8 months. I've completely furnished my home on my own, finally gotten a new vehicle that I can depend on, and feel that my life will only continue to improve from here on out.
