BRUCE'S DEADLY FINGERS

VCI Entertainment

Bruce's Deadly Fingers

Picture quality

HOLY CRAP! This disc is letterboxed in the correct 2.35:1 aspect ratio and looks amazing. This is hands down the best example of Bruceploitation in R1. Don't believe me, check out these frame grabs:

There is minimal print damage, but for a low budget Hong Kong film almost 30 years old, it looks amazing.

Sound quality

Sound is fine, mono 2.0.

The Film

This is one of Bruce Le's better outings. Good supporting cast, lots of fights and Bruce Le saying, "Kung fu finger book" about 700 times. You can read my original review here.

Extras

Damn, here VCI dropped the ball. I mean, they do include trailers but they are the same old Hong Kong trailers you have seen for Bruce Lee's films (they also appeared on THE STEEL FISTED DRAGON). If they had thrown some Bruce Le extras on there, it would have been nice.

Packaging

Okay, that cover is goofy. It appears someone Photoshopped Bruce Le's head onto Bruce Lee's body. But it looks too weird. His arms are too long so he looks like an alien.

Overall

Wow, talk about starting 2004 off right! If only other companies would treat their Bruceploitation as well (although I hear Crash has some good stuff coming our way). If you can find the disc for a reasonable price, I definitely recommend it.
