Whoa this movie is kinda weird, but a refreshing break from the usual "you killed my teacher/family/somebody I want revenge" or "You damn Japanese". This movie has to do a crazy tribe of snake worshipping people on an island off New Guinea. The kung fu is the same as every Bruce Li movie, but the story and stuff make up for it.
Bruce Li plays an Kwong Lee, an anthrolopolgist who goes to the island which is actually called Snake Worship Island. He falls in love with the Princess Ann Ka Wa of the snake people. The evil wizard San Kong rules over the snake people with his deadly kung fu technique. Kwong Lee is forced to leave the island. The Princess is pregnant with Kwong's child and the wizard finds out. Bolo Yeung, a henchmen of the wizard, has the best line in the movie, "Princess you're a slut!". The wizard places a spell on the baby. Kwong comes back to the island and kills the wizard and his henchmen, freeing the snake people from tyranny.
The costumes are pretty tacky. Bright colors and funky prints are pretty funny looking. Also the bad guys use these weapons that are a steel pole with a metal hand on the end...I'm not sure I get it. When Kwong Lee is poisoned the Princess recues him. He is lying there sick and cold, and he must be kept warm, so the Princess takes off her clothes and lies naked on him. Go Bruce! So when Bruce leaves the island the Princess slips him a love potion. Any woman who looks at Bruce with romantic interests will see him as a snake! There is some comedy bits, but they are funny because they are so stupid. Plus the cartoony type music helps. The soundtrack is ripped off from James Bond and something else that sounds familiar, but I can't remember what it is. Oh yeah I almost forgot the smut! They're are lots of fully naked chicks in this movie. So as I said this movie is only good because it's different than most kung fu movies.
