The story starts off right away with some guys coming into Fu Shan. There they meet their comrade Boss Mo, owner of the banker. Cashier Hua who finds a cheque in his pocket goes to return it, but over hears Mo's plans to take over the town. When Hua tries to tell the headman, he's intercepted by Dean Shek, who is working for Mo. Shek says to meet him tomorrow, but it's a set-up. Hua gets beaten, but escapes with the help of Fei Chun(Sammo!). Fei Chun is a student of Leung Jarn, a Wing Chun master. Leung Jarn treats Hua for his wounds. Hua tells Fei Chun to warn the headman, but when Fei Chun tells him, he doesn't believe him. He should've because he's killed by Mo's men. Mo learns Hua is staying at Jarn's, but Jarn won't give him up. Jarn takes Hua as a student and starts teaching him Wing Chun. Leung Jarn goes out for some food, but is ambushed by Mo's men. Mo's men deliver Jarn's corpse to the school and attack the students. Only Fei Chun, Hua, and Jarn's niece escape. The three plan an attack on Mo's three henchmen. Fei Chun confuses who's who, but they defeat them, unfortunately Jarn's niece is killed. Boss Mo reveals himself not to be a crusty old dude, but a young fighter, a master of the mantis style. Hua and Fei Chun double team him, and manage to defeat him and revenge their master.
Well, Sammo has done it yet again, bringing us another old school classic. An enjoyable kung fu movie, the sequel of sorts to Prodigal Son which Sammo wouldn't make for another 3 years. The movie takes off right away and doesn't stop until the final freeze frame. There are lots of fights and training scenes. There is some undercranking, but it's not that obvious as isn't that bad. But I'll tell you something that is obvious, Sammo's bald spot! Sammo has a haircut and he has bald spot on the top of his head. Sometimes you don't see it, but other shots it looks so fake and cheesy. During a fight Sammo takes a high fall and lands on a table, so that makes up for it. The fights are cool, the training sequences are cool. When Leung Jarn is ambushed at the inn, they stab him and then pull out the floor(he's on the second floor). But he still gets up and kicks everyone's ass. After getting his foot caught in a leg trap he sits on a table and beats up everyone just sitting there. It's cool. Until they bust a table over his head. My one complaint would be Dean Shek, he isn't as annoying as usual, but for some reason he gets to fight Sammo in the final reel. Shek isn't a fighter, so they play the fight for comedy, which is kinda lame and ends with Shek urinating in his pants. I think Sammo should've fought with talent, it would've made the ending all the more better. If you've seen or heard of Warriors Two, then you've heard of Casanova Wong's famous kick. He does this awesome jumping spin kick over a table and kicks Fung Hark On. His jump is huge, it's awesome. You'll know it when you see it, luckily Sammo slowed it down a bit. Even so, you be hitting rewind to see it again. Well just see this movie, you won't be disappointed.
