Why watch that Lo Wei garbage when you can watch this? There isn't much story here, but it doesn't matter because the cool fight scenes make it worth while. You can see the differences in the fight choreography in this one, from the standard two beat style to the newer wave fight choreography. A cool end fight between Jackie and Wang Ing Sik where Jackie takes a massive beating, but still wins although he ends up in a body cast. Wang Ing Sik shows off some cool moves. This movie happens to be Jackie's directorial debut and his first movie for Golden Harvest.

There are different cuts of this movie ranging from 86 to 101 minutes in length. I have the Platinum DVD that I picked up for $10 that has a running time of 90 minutes. Then at good ol' Wal-Mart I got a letterboxed VHS for $4 that had a running time of 93 minutes. I don't think the two were any different. The story holds together, but you can see where "something" was cut out. But who watches a Jackie Chan movie for the story? That's right, nobody.

Young Master is better than Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, but not quite as good as Drunken Master. It's a good movie with lots of cool fight scenes with lots of props like the fan fight, swords, stools and Jackie wearing a skirt.
