THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH WELCOMES YOU!

Welcome dear Friends to Sts. Philip and James Episcopal Church!
The Church opens wide its portals of prayer and invites everyone to praise
and give thanks to God as we celebrate...

One Hundred Years of Anglican Life and Worship in the Philippines!

1901 -- 2001

FORMED BY THE WORD, TRANSFORMING THE WORLD...
REDISCOVERING OUR ROOTS, DISCOVERING NEW ROUTES!

ECP VISION STATEMENT:

By the year 2007, we envision the Episcopal Church in the Philippines as a renewed Church, fully self-supporting and reaching out to proclaim God's love in the far reaches of the nation.

ECP MISSION STATEMENT:

The Episcopal Church in the Philippines exists to proclaim with integrity the fulfilling of God's Mission in this world by proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom of God; baptizing, teaching and nurturing the New Believers; responding to human needs by loving service; and seeking to transform unjust structures of the society.

About our Church:

Nestled on the lush green foliage and along the gentle rolling hills of Royal Pines in Shrine Hills, Matina, here in Davao City, the Episcopal Church of Sts. Philip and James stands to welcome all people both parishioners and visitors alike to contemplative meditation and divine worship.

Being the Episcopal/Anglican Church here in Davao City, the Church is committed to Mission and to provide spiritual counsel and assistance to all who may need it.  Anglicans and Christians from different Churches all find and agree on the strategic area on which the Church is situated to be the ideal and suitable place for spiritual meditation and connecting oneself with God and the Church.  And as such, the Church has become a favorite venue for memorable weddings and baptisms, as well as peaceful and contemplative retreats and seminars, but above all, as a holy ground where one meets and communes with God in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, also known here as the Holy Mass.

Being situated in such a spiritually strategic, not to mention nature-oriented area, many Anglicans/Episcopalians both coming from the neighboring cities and provinces as well as from Manila and abroad visit and regularly worship with the congregation every Sunday.

Realizing the potentials for Mission and Church growth as well as the influx of visitors to the Church both Anglicans and other Christians alike, the Church has opened up and extended its scope of Mission not only to the local Anglicans but also to the visitors and transient Anglicans who may be working or studying within this city.  Aside from providing spiritual support to both parishioners and visitors, the Church also actively engages in community and civic welfare projects bringing relief and hope to those who are in need and despair.

Above all of this, the Church upholds Ecumenism in realizing our Lord's prayer that "... they may all be One."  As such it actively engages in inter-religious and ecumenical dialogues with the different Churches through the National Council of Churches in the Philippines; participates in finding lasting peace in Mindanao through the Bishops-Ullama Forum; and on the grass roots level, fostering and nurturing friendship and cooperation with the local Davao City Churches in the Koinonia--Dabaw, a breakthrough towards achieving ecumenical unity and cooperation in worship and life among the different Churches here in Davao City.
