DESCRIPTION:: Tibetan Spaniels are small, well-balanced dogs measuring about 10 inches at the shoulder. They weigh between 9 and 15 pounds and are alert and intelligent. Like all Tibetan breeds, Tibbies have a double coat - a soft undercoat for warmth and a moderately long, silky outercoat which lies flat.
HISTORY: Originating in the Himalayan mountains of Tibet the Tibetan Spaniel has been known for over 2,000 years. Bred and owned by Buddhist monks and lamas, "Tibbies" were never sold. They left the monasteries of Tibet only as treasured gifts to esteemed friends.
Legend has it that Tibetan Spaniels were trained to turn the prayer wheels in the monasteries. Although this legend is doubted, they did serve the monks as companions and bed warmers. With their keen sight and hearing, the Tibbies acted as lookouts, lying on the high monastery walls and barking, warning the monks and larger Tibetan Mastiffs whenever anything approached.

We live in a small community in Southwestern Nova Scotia, Canada. We are fortunate to have four beautiful children, Three sons and a daughter. Three are grown and living on their own and the forth a teenager is still at home. In addition to the four children we have been given, there is another lovely young lady that has allowed us to be her second mom and dad. We also have been blessed with seven grandaughters, who bring Extra Joy to our family.
We enjoy a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father, and acknowledge that every good and perfect gift comes from Him. We realize also that some of these good and perfect gifts come as sorrow, from losses, that are painful at the time, but know that with every trial His Grace is sufficient. But before this gets too heavy, He has also given given us our great family, a church family to support and love us, a Great Country of freedom and peace, a roof over our heads, food on our table, and shoes for our feet and these things in abundance.
Jeremiah 29:11 has become a source of strength and peace for us. "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans for good and not for evil, to give you a hope and a future."
