Extinction Massacre

Disclaimer: Star Wars does not belong to me. It belongs to George
Lucas and I am not making a penny off this story.

Setting: It has been many years since the Yuuzhan Vong war. The Rebels
have been outcast from the New Republic and sent out of the known
galaxy. All have been separated and few are together. They reside in
the Unknown Regions and outside of what once was their Galaxy and the
next. They live in large freighters exploring the area in which they
reside with several other families. All three Skywalker children are
in their thirties and have not seen their aunt, uncle, and cousins for
close to thirty years.

Rachaelle Skywalker Horn jumped from her seat at the bridge of
the freighter they were using. A small one-man fighter was approaching
the ship. She relaxed as she saw it belonged to one of the outcasts.

"Unknown fighter, what is your identification code?"

"MISTRL-573-27-CORLEU."

"Docking initiated. What brings you back?"

"Talk about it later."

Rachaelle smiled as the ship docked and minutes later a woman in
black leather came out. She had pale skin and her long straight black
hair was streaked with silver and white even though she was anything
but old. With bright blue eyes if she was in a dress she would look
almost like a fragile figure made of porcelain but the clothes crushed
any of those thoughts.

Rachaelle glanced over her shoulder and saw her father standing
there alongside Rasoul, her twin brother.

"Master Skywalker," Tanith Nadira D'aklen Seone said with a bow.
"Welcome back Nadi."

Rachaelle was shocked that her father had instantly known it was
Nadi. She hadn't been around for twelve years. "You have something?"

"Yes," Nadi handed Luke a datacard and followed him out of the
room.

Luke stretched out even more to the Force as he leaned heavily
on his staff. He went to a reading pad of the data card reader. As he
inserted the datacard bumps rose on the reading pad and he ran his
fingers over them. He shook his head in shock as he finished.

"Everyone was dead?"

"Yes, the planet was massacred."

"This sounds like the Programmed."

""But they were destroyed with the Empire."

"What other news do you have?"

"I've found out why I'm so powerful."

"Let's hear it," Luke knew Nadi was more powerful than even Ben
and this confused everyone.

"I have DNA from four people. My parents, my aunt, and the crown
prince of a faraway galaxy that recently has expired."

"So your rich now?"

"2.7 billion credits, in one of the accounts."

"So you're going into politics."

"No, they chose a surrogate ruler. I just get the credits he
left."

Luke cocked his head as he heard a low whistle.

"Hello Mara, you mind telling me where your son is."

"Probably mediating some argument, Nadi."

"No, your other son."

"Try the repair bay."

Luke heard footsteps echo as Nadi left the room. "Why'd she want
to see Ben?"

"I don't know." He felt Mara's lips cover his own and he began
to return the kiss. Who'd ever think they'd live to be old enough to
have grandchildren.

*We didn't have to get too old for that dear. *

*Of course Mar, you can thank some stupid teenager for that
since they raped and impregnated our youngest daughter. *

*Relax Luke, everything's fine. Rachaelle's married now, even if
it is to a Horn and Rasoul is happy too. If only we could find some
one for Ben. *

*Good luck searching. He hides in that repair bay because
marriage and children are really pushed here. *

*Of course, they're afraid we're going to die out. *

Ben Skywalker was lying underneath a small ship tuning it up. He
was covered in grease but he didn't really care anymore. He suddenly
heard footsteps coming. As he saw his former bodyguard he suddenly
cared what he looked like but it was too late to change anything. He
licked his lips and swallowed hard as she approached him.
*Relax Skywalker, no one, least of all me, cares what you look
like. *

*You wouldn't be saying that if you walked in on me wearing much
less. *

*Already done it. Remember when I was around our rooms shared a
fresher. *

*Oh yes, I remember. Many accidents. *

"Hey Ben, I'm headed over to the dining hall. You coming with?"

"Sure might as well."

"If we're lucky your parents might be there."

Ben threw her a look of pure murder but she just laughed at it.
Ben started off towards the turbolift and pressed the button. He
got on with Nadi following and pressed the button that led to the
floor where the dining hall was.

As they sat down and began eating their gazes connected. She was
certainly beautiful to Ben. "Why did you leave?"

"I was engaged to be married."

"Then why are you here? Where's your husband?"

"He was murdered in front of me. While I was lying on our
marriage bed." She slammed her fork down and left in a flurry. Ben
stood up and caught up to her.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know."

"No, you're not sorry. He would have only been a blockade to get
what you want. You want me across the altar from you. You want me in
you're wedding bed."

"No, not at all."

"Don't dare deny it. Did you ever think that I never wished for
those same things? But, no, dreams are for fools."

Ben grabbed her arm and pushed her against the wall. He was
breathing hard as he held her there then leaned forward and was
kissing her.

She never shoved him away.

"About time," Mara Jade Skywalker said as she turned towards her
husband. Luke was sitting silently in his chair beside his desk. "Took
them long enough."

Mara shook her head then went on to distract her husband who was
sitting in meditation. He shook his head and grabbed her wrist,
pulling her towards him.

"Were we any better?"

"It only took us ten years, it took them twelve and one
marriage."

Luke pulled himself to his feet and leaned heavily on his staff.

Mara rubbed suggestively against him then turned to leave. As she
walked down the hallway she covered her butt as she felt something
strike it and turned to see Luke's staff moving to rest on the ground
once again. She scowled at him and let the emotion ride through the
Force.

"You could at least make it easier for me. I can't do anything

by manipulating sight anymore."

"Now, now, you don't need to seduce me. What would every one
else think if they saw the trader seducing the Jedi Master?"

"I'm a Jedi Master too dear and who's going to tell? We're stuck
on this bucket of bolts with the Horns and the Antilles."

"And twenty other people that we don't know."

"Spoilsport. Who are they going to tell? We haven't had any
sentient contact in over three years."

As they went into the turbolift Luke leaned into the corner and
beckoned Mara closer. As she leaned closer he tipped her head up with
his staff on her chin. He moved closer and she wrapped her arms around
his neck.

"Who's the spoilsport now," Luke whispered as she began
passionately kissing him.

The door opened and Mara pulled away from him just in time
because one of the other crewmembers boarded just then.
Luke followed her out shaking his head. Keeping open through the
Force let him know what had just happened. Mara smiled and didn't look
where she was going before she ran into the shoulder of her much
taller son.

Ben turned towards his parents and saw his mother on the floor.
Ben couldn't help but smile as he helped her to her feet.
"Hey Ben, you coming tonight?" Valina Serasen, a young woman,
said to him

"Tonight? What's tonight?"

"Dinner, dancing, big party, because we survived another year."

"Oh that, uh actually I've come down with a bit of a cold."

"I don't think so," Mara told her eldest son. "You already have
a date."

"You know what happened in the dinning hall, don't you."

Mara raised an eyebrow and Luke felt it over the force. "I think
that's a qualified yes. Come on. We all need to have some fun before
that invasion party that Nadi has info on shows up."

Okay here is part two.

Luke sat silently ignoring all the noise. He took a deep breath
as he remembered the days when he had gone blind. Everything was
insane and the dream, the dream he couldn't understand. As he
stretched out to the Force again he could tell that for once Ben was
happy.

Luke felt a pair of slim hands on his shoulders. Soft lips
caressed his neck with kisses. Luke reached back and took Mara's
hands in his. She came around and held his hands.

"What's bothering you?"

"Nothing."

"I know you better than that dear. Love tell me what it is."

"The Programmed, something about this bothers me. I've lived
through three attempts at taking over the galaxy. None of them have
succeeded. It makes no sense to attack out here. There has to be some
ulterior motive."

"Don't worry about it."

"Why would they attack people in the middle of nowhere? We're
the only ones out here." Dream, Luke heard whispered in his mind,
remember the dream. The dream? The dream he had during the time he
was unconscious during the explosion? Was it possible that it
couldn't have been a dream? It didn't sound possible. No it wasn't he
was still there; he had never been Vader's assassin. It wasn't
possible that it was. He didn't want to believe it was possible, but
oh, the Programmers were back. Did they come to get him? Was that why
they had come? Did they come to return him? To take control of him,
mind and spirit again? To use him?

Mara glanced curiously at her husband then she caught his train
of thoughts. "Luke? Are you alright? What dream?"

Luke stood up suddenly and seemed disoriented. Mara grabbed his
hand and led him out of the room. "Luke tell me what's wrong. What
dream?"

He never answered her and she rested her hands on his
shoulders. "Luke," she said concern overpowering in her voice. "What
dream? What is this about?"

His hand went to the back of his head and then to behind his
right ear holding two fingers slightly apart. He pulled his hand down
to his waist as if following a long piece of hair from behind his ear
to his waist.

"Luke?"

He continued to ignore her and then his hands went to his head.
He sunk to the floor and shook in pain.

"Luke? Luke!" Mara knelt down beside her husband but he wasn't
responding. "Luke!"

Ben laid back in an egg chair while Nadi clutched her drink and
began pacing. A slow song was playing so the `dance floor' was filled
with couples.

Ben stood up and grabbed Nadi's wrist, "let's get out of here."
"I hardly disagree."

They left and went to the bridge. Nadi leaned against a rail
staring out into empty space. Ben placed his hands on either side of
her and moved her long braid out of the way, kissing her neck. He
suddenly stopped and pulled away sharply.

"Ben? What is it? Don't give me that disturbance in the Force
crap."

"My father he's in pain."

Nadi turned back towards him. "What?"

"Come on." He said then led her away. They found Luke on the
floor with Mara beside him.

"What happened?"

"He just collapsed."

here is the next part

"A message just came in from one of the other freighters today,"
Rachaelle told her husband, Tobeous Horn, and brother, Rasoul.
Tobeous glanced at Rachaelle's datapad and frowned. "Two
freighters were destroyed. They're our military base and academy. Why
would they come after the outcasts? We don't even like the New
Republic."

Rachaelle switched it to the next message and showed it to her
on looking husband. "The planet Emberlene was massacred? Why?"
"Isn't it obvious?"

"The Mistryl have even less to do with the New Republic than we
do."

"This isn't just about the New Republic. This is a war over the
entire galaxy. Everyone is involved."

"They're picking off the strongest first: the Mistryl, the Jedi,
the Military."

"That's what's confusing Rasoul, they should go after the
weakest first."

"Tobeous, we're dealing with people that murder without thought.
They're not predators, they don't think like them."

"We better get this to who ever is in charge nowadays."

The medic shown a small lumnalamp in Luke's eye and frowned.
Luke continued to jerk away from it but Wedge and Corran held him
down. He continually struggled and Corran felt himself loose his grip.
The medic forgot about Luke's eyes and hurried to get a dose of drugs
to keep him down.

When they had finally gotten him still Wedge glanced at Corran
who was trying to get up off the floor. "I'm too old for this."
The medic sat stunned in silence. "What is it?"

"This man isn't blind."

"What?"

Corran grabbed Wedge's arm and pulled him over, "get Mara now."
"What she'll kill us before we can explain because we drugged
him."

"You don't have to worry I already know."

"There's something else going on here."

"How many doses did you give him?"

"One."

"Give him several more and maybe he'll stay down for a few
hours."

"That would kill any human."

"Any normal human."

"What?"

"His brain waves match that of the programmed."

Mara turned around and saw the doctor on the floor laying in a
puddle of his own blood and Luke was gone, or at least she thought he
was until she felt the muzzle of a blaster pressed to her back.

Nadi took the long loose braid in one hand and a knife in the
other and sliced the braid loose. It fell to the floor with a thump
and Ben cocked an eyebrow at her.

"You knew it had to be done. You've disguised yourself too,"

Nadi said taking in Ben's newly short blond hair. "Red is much better
on you. Long is better too."

"Guess you'll just have to get used to it."

"That contract?"

"Ah that's what I wanted to talk to you about."

"I know it was a marriage certificate."

"You know? How?"

"You forget I hear all your thoughts."

Ben smiled at his new wife who was an illiterate genius as far
as he was concerned. It didn't matter to him that she had never been
able to read or write. Her father had looked down upon all women and
kept her from learning. She was educated beyond belief but her fear of
what would happen was instilled in her and she would not learn how to
read or write. She had sworn to marry him and wasn't angry with him
for always assuming her dumb and just using that to his advantage
before.

Ben blinked his eyes and glanced at the bedside chrono. He had
only been asleep for a few minutes. He shifted his position and found
himself unable to move without disturbing the person curled up beside
him. Nadi, her face buried in his chest, and her leg swung carelessly
over his hip was sound asleep.

Ben smiled at her; she looked so peaceful and fragile. She
rolled over and curled up in a fetal position. He pushed a lock of
hair away and kissed her cheek. Ben pressed against her back and she
rolled over, curling up in his arms. He wrapped them tightly around
her feeling secure. She buried her face in his chest and relaxed once
again. He lay silently, his shoulder forward, almost as if protecting
her from the galaxy.

Rachaelle Skywalker Horn was fuming as she paced the bridge of
the ship with a now cold cup of Caff in her hand. She was unable to
sleep because her idiotic oldest brother didn't know how to shield.
She was outside because even after a shower cold enough to give her
hypothermia she still had to cool off. She saw another figure staring
out at the stars through the viewport.

"You woken up too?" Rachaelle asked the brown-haired man.

"No," Rasoul Skywalker answered, "couldn't sleep."

"I'm glad you at least have decided to stay single."

"You know who it is?"

"Nadi, they're married."

"I didn't see that one coming."

Rasoul raised a hand to cover a yawn. "Want some?" Rachaelle
asked offering him her mug.

"What kind?"

"The stuff I got from the in-laws."

"No thank you. That stuff is a health hazard. Isn't that stuff
illegal?"

"Don't know. I drink it all the time and I'm not brain dead
yet."

"Your talks kill more people than her Caff."

Both turned around to see their older brother behind them. They
still had to get used to his currently blond hair.

"I think you should talk to dad tomorrow."

"What?"'

"Ask him to teach you how to shield."

Recognition crossed Ben's face, "oh Sith!"

Rachaelle hid a smile then stumbled as the entire ship shook
with a laud bang.

Mara Jade Skywalker took a deep breath as she turned her head so
she could see whom it was. Her husband stood behind her with a look of
pure determination. It scared her. Now she knew the fear he must have
had on Myrkr because she was certainly afraid.

"Get moving Jade, quietly."

Mara started to move where he directed in fear. She had never
imagined she would be afraid of him. Not of him. Not her husband, Luke
Skywalker, the Jedi Master. Not the only man she had loved; loved more
than life itself.

"Stop!" He ordered her then he knelt down and placed a small
device in an area that was nearby the reactor core. He clicked a
button on the top of it. Mara reached out to touch his mind. She found
a small crack in his defenses.

"A bomb. You're going to kill us all."

"You Bastard!" Wedge yelled and jumped at him.

Luke spun around and slammed a foot into Wedge's stomach. "Be
careful Antilles. You're not as young as you used to be and I don't
age."

Wedge tried to get up and jump at him again but Corran held him
back. "Even you should be able to see the conflict in his face."

Mara looked at him pleadingly, "please don't do this Luke."

He stared unmoved.

"Please Luke," Mara continued the pain evident in her face in
voice. "Luke you don't have to do this." She grabbed his hands then
pressed against his chest. He dropped the blaster and his arms wound
around his wife, he buried his nose in her hair. One hand tangled
itself up in her thick hair and he kissed the top of her head. He
blinked his eyes as tears streamed down his face.

"Get out of here," he whispered as he shoved her away. She
turned towards Corran and Wedge and they instantly left. She knew what
Luke had planned. Knew that he would sacrifice himself.

"You have to leave Mara. I have to end it, end their use of me.
Please Mara, just do this."

"I'm not leaving you."

Nadi stood in front of them with her arms crossed under her
breasts. "What is going on?"

"I don't know."

"Everyone to the escape pods," a voice came over a central
communication area. There is a chain reaction."

"Oh great that certainly explains things," Rachaelle muttered
than hurried to follow the others.

Here's the next part of my fic.

Mara reached up and ran a hand over her husband's cheek and
pressed tightly against him. He was stiff, resistant to her
touch. "Please don't do this to me Luke," she pleaded with him. He
was bent on sacrificing himself even though it wouldn't help any of
them.

"Luke please, I won't let them touch you but we have to get to
an escape pod."

"You can't protect me, not from them. They're everywhere.
They've gotten inside my head, they control what I do."

"Luke you have control. You were able to let the others go. All
you have to do is turn around and get into an escape pod and we can
get you help."

"How can you help me?" Luke asked the confusion evident on his
face. Then his deep blue eyes, eyes that she had known for so long.
The eyes that she had many times lost herself in turned cold. He
tightened his jaw and his features grew hard. She had only seen him
few times like this, the fury radiating from him.

Mara grabbed his wrist but he ripped it away from her grip.

"Luke we have to go. We can find another freighter."

"Yeah, one with a psychologist, right." He snapped at her
sarcasm heavy in his voice. "Because that's what I need." Luke began
wobbling and collapsed in a flurry. Mara hurried to grab a sedative
and injected it into him. She grabbed her husband under the arms and
dragged him to the nearest escape pod. He was actually a very small
man but he was still larger than her. She hoped they would make it
out in time. She reached it and pushed him in then got in herself and
pressed the eject button.

Mara stretched her sore muscles but found out instantly she
couldn't move very far. She remembered she had finally dragged her
husband to the last escape pod to get away from the exploding ship
after he had lost conciousness. Luke was staring blankly into space.
"It's true," Luke whispered. He had told her of his dream,

which just convinced Mara that he needed help that only a doctor
could give him. After all these years her husband had psychologically
broken down. It hurt her to think about it but that was the only way
it could be explained. He had convinced himself that a dream he had
received was an actual journey through time and now he had received
an order to destroy them. Mara had few times before heard of
the `Programmed.' She recognized two of the names Luke had mentioned
but both were only mere concubines. It wasn't possible that it could
be true. Those two weren't `programmed.'

They had waited for several hours before a tractor beam latched
onto the escape pod. As they were brought on board the freighter. She
was helped out and insisted on speaking to the person in charge
immediately. She met with two people and had a sinking feeling when
one of them turned out to be her own sister-in-law, Leia Organa Solo,
whom she had not seen in about thirty years. How was she going to
explain to Leia that her twin brother had gone insane and almost
killed them all?

"Leia, this is a surprise."

"Mara, what happened? Why did Luke try to kill everyone?"

"I think he's gone insane. Years ago he was ingured in an
explosion and I guess he had a dream that he went back in time and
became an Imperial Agent. He's convinced himself it was real. Now he
thinks he received an order to destroy the freighter."

"To what extent is it?"

"He killed a man, attacked Wedge, and pulled a blaster on me.
He was close to pulling that trigger."

Leia leaned over towards a young man behind her. "Put Luke
Skywalker under heavy guard. Bring Ysalamiri and Noghri. I warn you
he is armed and deadly. He is to be locked up and under guard at all
times." Leia dismissed the young man and the other person in charge
then turned towards Mara. "Mara, are you all right? You can talk to
me about it."

Mara stood up and turned around facing her back to Leia
wrapping her arms around herself. Leia came up to her and rested a
hand on her shoulder. "Do you want to talk about it?"

Mara's shoulders shook and Leia wiped the tears from her
face. "I was so scared of him. He's so powerful and still deadly,

even at this age. I've never seen him like that."

"It'll be all right Mara, we'll get him some help. We'll do all
we can to cure him."

10 Years Later

Ben Skywalker was exhausted as he blocked another blow from a
bright green blade with his blue one. A foot hooked behind his ankle
and dumped him onto his back. He lay on the floor and stared past the
green blade pointing at his throat that went off with a snap. Ben
stared at his wife, still gorgeous as she was when they first met,
even now, well into her fifties. Of course he wasn't far behind her
when it came to age.

"Ok, I surrender. Can we have lunch yet?"

"Sure, let's get out of here."

She helped him back onto his feet and they left. Ben had a
feeling that something was wrong, something was going to happen soon
but he had no idea what.

Mara Jade Skywalker sat down across from a doctor that had just
ran a scan on her husband's blood sample. It was littered with a
highly illegal drug. The drug that was sometimes called the mask drug
because it can make the user a mirrior copy of anyone.

"You think he was actually telling the truth?"

Mara shook her head sadly, "I think there's only one way to
find out. You have the antidote?"

"Yes, right here," the doctor showed her a small flask.
"We might as well get this over with." Mara waited for several
hours when the doctor finally called her into the cell. Where her
husband had once stood was a tall slender man that Mara did indeed
remember from the Empire. He had been the murderer of the Jedi.

sorry this is so short but, grr, I have a writer's block.

"I told you the truth," Luke whispered mournfully.
"I didn't want to believe you."

"You have to release me. They know where I am. They'll take me
if I stay here."

"Why do they want you?"

"They want me back because I'm they're leader, the most
powerful."

"This drug, what do you know about the effects, after it wears
off."

"Memories are clear for a few hours but afterwards everything
that occurred during the time when you were under its effect becomes
like a dream that you can never quite remember, that you can't grasp.
Only meaningless images really."

"This is just great. So in a few hours you won't even be able
to remember we're married or any of our children."

"That about sums it up."

"This is just great," Mara growled and then actually looked at
the man in front of her. They had gotten him some alternate clothes
but he had no shirt on and the pants were too short and too tight but
Mara didn't mind at all. Her heart rate quickened as her gaze
traveled from his bare feet to his face. His blond hair was cut
extremely short except for the long thin braid. Mara smiled as she
saw it go from behind his ear to behind his back. She wondered how
long it actually was and took a step closer to him. She grabbed the
braid and flipped it over his shoulder. It rested below his waist and
Mara couldn't do anything but smile at him. He was just as good
looking as he had been when they had first met, of course then she
was far too preoccupied with killing him to notice it then. He looked
much the same, he was taller of course, and his hair was cut short.
She couldn't help but stare at him.

"Ahem, Mara you mind if we get something to eat right now. You
can stare at me all you want as I eat."

Her cheeks colored as she snapped out of her
reminiscing. "Sorry, sure, let's go." Her gaze locked onto his eyes,
she wondered how many stared into those eyes not expecting to die in
the next moment, how many that were their last glimpse. Was that how
she would pass, staring into those clear blue eyes, always seeming to
be dreaming about something else. Was that why he was here? Would she
see the murderer when it was too late, he didn't look like a
murderer. He looked innocent with a child like naïveté; it was what
she had always loved about him.

Mara looked up startled as Luke came in front of her, bent down
and kissed her cheek. "I'm not going to harm you. I promise."

Well, here is the next part

Luke turned around to leave and Mara grabbed the shirt from the
floor and tossed it to him, "Luke you'll want this, trust me, it's
for your own good."

He frowned but pulled it over his head and the frown
deepened, "are these supposed to be short sleeves?"

Mara laughed as she saw the extremely short sleeves and pants
that came to his shins. "I'll find you some different clothes and she
left and returned shortly with some new clothes that fit a little bit
better but were still to short. " They'll do."

As Mara headed out Luke pulled her out, "Mara you have to stop
checking me out and acting like we're married. I'm young enough to be
your grandson. If people see you like that they'll put you in that
cell and label you insane. You don't want that, trust me. You have
doctors wanting to talk out your problems and sticking needles filled
with different drugs in you, you have no privacy, close to no space,
and the food is crummy. Poodoo probably would taste better than that
stuff they call food."

"You sure it's that bad?"

"I spent ten years in there, thanks to you."

"I'm sorry Luke."

He dismissed it and headed towards the dinning hall and she
quickly followed him wondering when he had became the realist and she
the idealist. They had switched roles so suddenly that she didn't
know how it had happened.

Mara sat as Luke ate in silence. She was not about to let the
programmers have him again but they only had a little under an hour
before he lost the memory of his stint as Skywalker. He wouldn't look
her in the face, he became shy almost, skittish and it was about to
get worse as she saw a woman come up behind him. She was a sleazy
looking woman, a slut. She barely had any clothes on and Mara began
burning to wring her throat as she began rubbing suggestively up
against Luke's back.

*Don't do anything to her Luke. *

*Don't worry about me; I'd be more worried about you doing
something, grams. *

*Luke, I'm not amused. *

*Remember Mara; you have to act like you're my grandmother or
something. Don't attack her but you can be protective. *

*Like what. *

*Like, remember when we met up with Booster shortly after
Rachaelle and Tobeous were engaged. Rachaelle started flirting and
Booster got really protective over Tobeous. *

*Yeah, I remember that. *

*Good. *

As the woman continued her attempts Mara just glared at her and
then stood up. "What do you think you're doing?"

"Excuse me, Master Jedi Jade Skywalker, may I borrow your
grandson for a little while."

Mara stood up and waved a finger in her direction, "I know your
type, don't be touching my grandson or you'll be in big trouble."

Luke shook his head and stood up and Mara followed him as he
left. They met up with Ben a few minutes later; in his hand he had a
small pack that he tossed to Luke. Luke nodded at him then went into
the group of rooms that had belonged to Mara with her. "We're short
of time," he said as he pulled a pair of clothes out of the bag and
put on a black sleeveless bodysuit. He pulled on a pair of high block
boots and strapped on a belt and put a blaster in the holster that
rested on his hip. He strapped an Imperial issue forearm holster on
his right arm and a sheath on his left. He finally gave Mara a thin
knife and she sliced off the small tail and the long braid. Luke
smiled and took a dark blue jacket out of the pack and put it on.

Mara looked him over, he looked different than she was used to
seeing him but some things were always the same as she glanced inside
of the bag and pulled out another jacket she smiled as she saw it was
black. She handed it over to him and he took it, "keep with your
style if that's what you want."

He gladly switched the jackets and turned to leave. Mara stared
at him then stopped him, "wait Luke, you're still missing something."
"What?"

She handed him a small metal, rectangular shaped box. He
silently opened it and pulled a lightsaber out. "Where'd you find
this?"

"Ben grabbed it from your home on Naboo. He did some snooping.
We also had your blasters and vibroblades replaced."

"Thanks, I guess they were kinda antiques. I haven't touched
this lightsaber since I left the Jedi Order, that's old Jedi Order."

"So, this dream was nothing but a well fabricated lie."

"Yeah it got me wondering about things but it was nothing more
than that."

"How are you going to get through life like this?"

"They told us the age would be at least between twenty-five and
twenty-seven so I won't get old."

"They must have really miscalculated."

"Mara, how bad is it."

Mara winced, "somewhere between fifteen and seventeen."
"I'm not amused."

"I'm not joking."

Luke sank into a chair and miserably let his head fall into his
hands. "I want this to end Mara, I don't want to remember. Please
Mara, I don't want to remember my life, I want to live a new life."

"Luke we can get through this."

"No, I want it to end."

Mara stared at the man who was her husband, even as a teenager
he was cute. The Emperor had stolen her past now he wished for her to
take his memory away. Just as the Emperor had done to her.

"I'll talk to the others about getting it set up."

"Thank you Mara."

"He wants to do what?" Leia said her voice cold as ice.
"He wants his memory wiped."

"It would require an implant and for one that sophisticated, we
don't have the technology to do it completely."

"Rachaelle, we need to try it, the force can cover what
technology misses."

"Rachaelle, Ben's right, we have to take the chance."

Nadi sat silent, they were all missing one fact. "Who's going
to take him in?"

"I'm sure we can find a family."

"We can't just find a family Rasoul, he's one of the
programmed. They're going to be back to either take him back or kill
him."

"Well what do you suggest?"

"We have to protect him."

"Congrats Nadi," Ben muttered, "you just volunteered us to
adopt a third son. A teenager this time."

"What?"

"Thanks for volunteering Nadi, I'm sure you'll do just find."

Ben shot her a lock that said `told you so.'

"Don't even start with me," she growled and left angrily. Ben
quickly caught up with her in the room that they shared.

"Nadi, it had to be us. They assumed no one else could protect
him as well as we could and had the most experience, after all yoou
had more of a hand in raising me, Rasoul, and Rachaelle as teenagers
than most other people. You saved us from darksiders and about
everylthing else under the sun so my mother figured you would be the
best bet."

"I guess we'll just have to deal with it now."

"I'm not anymore thrilled by this than you are."

"Let's get this done," Luke said as he turned towards Mara. She
sighed and injected the small implant into his neck at the base of
his skull. He fell asleep waiting for it to take effect and for his
old memories to dissapear. When he awoke again he was just a homeless
kid looking for a family.

On a side note where this is going it is going to be concentrating
mostly on Luke and the only thoughts on the relationship is going to
be Mara's thoughts which will not be very often. My question is, is
this still within the criteria for this group or should I no longer
post it here? If the answer is no and some one is still interested in
the story I can direct you to where it is posted.

Here it is another part of my fic.

Luke Naberrie glanced around the sitting room and shifted the
bag on his shoulder once again and nervously looked over the place.
The old woman that had brought him in was talking to a man with
graying red hair and a lined face. He couldn't hear what they were
saying. He knew the man was the one that was going to raise him. He
glanced past them as a tall, pale skinned woman joined them. Her
black hair was streaked with silver and white but she didn't look
very old but it showed on her face that she had aged well so he
doubted the streaks were from aging even though she was well past her
prime.

The old woman smiled at him, "Luke this is Ben and Nadi, you'll
be living with them."

"Alright, why don't we get you settled?"

"Am I going to have to be an only child, I asked not to."

Ben looked curiously at him then shook his head, "no, we have
two younger sons."

"Am I the only one that's been adopted?"

"No," Nadi told him, "the younger one was adopted."

"Luke," Mara explained, "Nadi can't have children of her own,
having one almost killed her."

"Well, that's enough talk," Ben said as he glanced over at his
wife. He had felt her uneasiness and despair as the conversation had
progressed. Ben turned to glare at his mother and as Nadi led Luke to
his room he pulled her aside.

"I was only answering his question."

"Until you've lost several children watch it."

"Ben it happened years ago."

"She got pregnant three times before Royhen. We've lost more
than three children. The wounds are still open."

"Ben, it's been many years. Surely you need to get out of the
past. You need to learn to deal with it."

Ben turned around sharply and glared at her. "I want you out of
my rooms now. Don't make me force you."

Mara stared at him, shocked.

"I said OUT, NOW!" He yelled at her as he pointed at the
door. "I have had enough of this place, I can not deal with you or
those people any longer."

Mara left her head down. She had just talked her way into being
sent away by her own family.

"Do you really think you had to be that harsh," Nadi said as
she stared out the viewport in the room she shared with Ben. Ben was
lying on the bed with nothing else but a sheet pulled down to his
waist. Nadi stared out into blank space than turned back to her
husband.

"She had no right, she has no idea what it's like to loose a
child."

"You don't know what it's like to loose spouse. She's probably
very stressed out right now and doesn't know how to deal with it."
Ben beckoned her closer and silently slid the robe she was
wearing off her shoulders and kissed her shoulder silently.

Luke Naberrie-Skywalker shrugged a thick leather jacket on and
grabbed his pack. The family that had adopted him had moved off the
freighter several months previous to then. A black strip of cloth
wrapped around his forehead kept his hair out of his face that had
grown significantly longer. He snuck past the room where Ben and Nadi
slept but realized he wouldn't get out again that night as he saw
seven-year-old Royhen came out of the `fresher rubbing sleep out of
his eyes.

"Where are you going this time Luke?"

"Out," he told the child knowing that wasn't going to work.

"Again, I'm going to tell mom and she's gonna whup you a good
one."

Luke covered the child's mouth, "Roy, promise you won't tell
anyone."

He pried Luke's hand away from his mouth. "I promise to not
tell if you bring me home those little sweet things this time."

"Fine Roy, but don't tell Ben or Nadi where you got them."

"You got it."

He went to bed and Luke left the house silently. If Ben and
Nadi found him sneaking out they would have his head but he couldn't
worry about that. He met up in an alleyway with a guy that looked
like he was on steroids.

Dirk Seone was a bully and Luke owed him money. Luke's
impressive height made many shy away from him but height wasn't
everything.

"You got the money little boy."

"I'll have the money for you by tomorrow Dirk, I promise. I
just don't have it right now."

As they heard footsteps Dirk yanked Luke behind a stack of
metal containers.

"What was that for?"

"I don't want to get caught out there, that's my father."

"How ya gonna keep me quiet."

"He finds us, he'll get a hold of your parents. But if you want
to go ahead."

Luke peeked over the top and his jaw dropped as he saw Nadi was
talking to Dirk's father.

"I don't know what this is about Tharern."

"Father called TN, he wants us back."

"Back in the Imperial court?"

"No back with the darksiders, but I doubt you'll leave your
life as a little house wife with your little good Jedi husbands and
your Jedi brats."

"I've become more than a little house wife."

"Yes, I doubt you could ever become one, or a Jedi for that
matter, you're no more than a little slut."

"I am what I am.

"What have I heard about you being wanted for charges of first
degree murder?"

"They found no proof of me being guilty so they let it go."

"I've heard that they were once our enemies."

"Family does for family."

"So you did kill them."

"I already answered that."

"That's TN," Dirc whispered, "she used to be the main
entertainer around here."

"What do you mean entertainer."

"Well, she was a strip dancer."

Luke's mind was reeling from the fact that Nadi had been a
striper and not only that, came from a high-ranking Imperial family
of darksiders.

Luke saw Nadi suddenly stop and then step back as a blaster
bolt went whizzing past her. She turned towards his hiding
place, "run Luke!" He was on his feet in a second and running. He ran
directly into a man, maybe close to thirty.

Luke took a few steps back and gulped hard.

"Why are you running Luke Naberrie, we're old friends remember."

"Who are you, I can't remember you."

"I'm Carlos, remember."

"No," the man grabbed his arm and Luke tried to pull away.

"Release him," Nadi yelled from down the street a little ways.

As the man drew back a knife Nadi ran forward and sliced across his
back with a knife in her hand. Carlos turned around a struck her
face. Nadi stumbled back and with coiled muscles sprung at him like a
feline. He brought a kick up to her chest. Luke knew Nadi had no
chance against this man, no living thing did.

Nadi picked herself up again and as he swung a kick towards her
head she blocked it. The man was in shock, which was gone as soon as
a kick connected to his sternum, and he stumbled back. He attacked
her jumping at her. She dropped to the ground as he jumped at her,
brought her legs up, and flipped him onto his back. She straddled him
and pressed a knife to his throat making quick work of the man, as
she pushed herself up she suddenly arched her back and yelled in pain
as a blaster bolt entered her back. She was thrown back as her face
was smashed with a kick and another to her lung area.

Nadi dropped down to the ground and blood dripped from her
mouth and nose. The blaster burn was slowing her down. She gasped for
a breath each it caused her pain each time. She stared up at the
woman and forced herself to her feet so she could look her attacker
in the face. She was a blond woman with a large bust.

Nadi glared at the sneer on her face and instigated the first
blow. The woman stumbled back as Nadi pulled back her fist. In it was
a knife, red with blood. She fell back as another blaster bolt burned
her, one after another until she could no longer move. Everything was
far away.

Luke stared in horror as he felt Nadi's life bleed away.

Another woman that looked like the first one stood above Nadi and she
tried to push herself up again. The woman took a blaster and pointed
it at Nadi and pulled the trigger and left it pulled until Nadi moved
no more.

Tharern Seone ran through the street and found the woman
dissipate the life of his younger sister but never made it to her as
the woman killed him swiftly and let his body drop.

Luke felt his blood boiling and the hatred and rage as he went
after the woman. A kick connected to her head and he beat her until
she fell to the ground.

"We will never stop hunting you Luke Naberrie, we will not be
the last. The `programmed' will have you returned to them. We will
never give up."

Luke silenced her with one last stroke of his arm to her neck.

Ben Skywalker was awake as the emotions rushed through his
mind. He felt the fear, the anger, the hatred that Luke was feeling.
He also found that Nadi's presence had been ripped from his mind. He
couldn't think straight as the darkside feeling caused a vortex in
his mind. Nadi was gone, they had killed his wife. The other half of
his soul, they had killed her.

Ben slipped his clothes on and made sure the other two boys
were still asleep. Then went outside and gunned up the speeder and
sped off. When he arrived in the street Luke was silent, holding a
tight leather suit tightly. Ben recognized it as the one he had many
times seen on Nadi. Ben picked his way through the neighborhood
security forces. He rested a hand on Luke's shoulder and the boy
looked up and Ben hugged him tightly. Luke buried his face in Ben's
shoulder and sobbed. "It's my fault, it's all my fault."

Ben stroked his hair like he would to comfort a little child
and held him close. It would take the family a long time to get over
this tragedy.

Luke pulled away from Ben and picked up the lightsaber on the
ground then handed it to Ben. Ben recognized it as Nadi's, she had
become one with the Force and they had to get back home.

Ben helped Luke onto the back of the speeder bike and on the
way back home didn't say a word.

Luke stood and stared at the funeral pyre. *It's my fault; it's
all my fault. If it weren't for me we wouldn't be here, no one would
be sad. If I hadn't snuck out Nadi would still be alive. *

His eyes stung as he stared into the fire. It was his fault.
Ben had been silent for several days, withdrawn, depressed. Not
even Roy had been his rambunctious self.

Luke sat there for several hours and then joined Ben with the
old woman; he thought she must be a social worker.

"Ben I'm so sorry about what happened if I could do anything
about it."

"I know."

"Three children survived from the academy when it was
destroyed."

"And you were wondering if I could take them in."

"No, I was wondering if you could help me find a home for them."
"Are they here?"

"Yes."

The old woman led them to a ship and introduced them to the
three children, two boys, and a girl. The girl was in her young teens
with pale skin, black hair, and blue eyes.

"We can take them in."

"Ben I couldn't ask that of you again."

"You're not asking I'm offering," he said with a small smile
and Luke shared that smile. With five boys and a girl, life would
certainly get interesting.
