Well, the list has been kinda quiet the last couple of days, so
Sherry suggested I post the short little fic I wrote last Wednesday.
It *stormed* Tuesday night, and this sweet little bunny latched on to
me. I didn't have anything else to do on my last day of work, so...
This is my first (and probably my last!) song fic, but I'm pretty
happy with how it turned out. Enjoy. :-)

Summary: A thunderstorm, you, a Jedi, and your thoughts. (It's done
nothing but rain and storm here for a month, I needed a pick-me-up,
and this is one of my favorite songs)

Howling wind whips heavy raindrops against the pane, beating out a
furious rhythm. Thunder crashes in the distance, lending its
powerful voice to create a spectacular symphony. Brilliant ribbons
of lightning flash across the angry sky, a violent contrast to the
darkened clouds enveloping the world.

The fierce display outside is frightening, yet strangely soothing. A
perverse mirror of the passionate events that occurred indoors mere
hours ago, the howling storm is now a sharp contrast to the feeling
inside you.

A smile lights your features as lightening illuminates the room
enough for you to catch glimpses of his beautiful body tangled in the
sheets. His breathing is even and deep, his mind and body so
exhausted that even a raging war couldn't disturb his slumber.

Lying beside you here in the dark

The life of a Jedi is a hard one. You were fully aware of that when
he began courting you, but the heart has a way of turning a blind eye
towards things like that. For a month, there was nothing but you,
him, and the fire rushing through your veins every time you touched.
His kisses were magical, and when you were together, nothing else
existed or mattered. Whether it was a night filled with social
events and friends, or a quiet evening alone, you couldn't have asked
for a more perfect experience. He was everything you'd ever dreamed
of, and so much more as well.

And then the world had collapsed. At least your mystical bubble did,
when he was summoned away to handle an important matter on the other
side of the galaxy. You knew he had to go, but nothing had prepared
you for the emptiness you would feel when he left.

We sailed on together
We drifted apart
And here you are by my side

The crisis was not a simple one, as you both had hoped, and his duty
as a Jedi kept him away from you for far too long. Though the sound
of his gentle voice on the other end of the comm was always a welcome
one, you longed to feel his arms around you and his sweet lips
pressed to yours.

As the crisis escalated, the number of days between his calls
multiplied. It wasn't that he had forgotten about you, but that he
was often away from a comm center powerful enough to transmit across
the galaxy for days on end. And it wasn't as if you could call him,
since you knew less than he did where he would be from one day to the
next.

Until finally, you received word that the situation was over, and he
was coming home.

So now I come to you with open arms

Hardly able to contain your anticipation, you waited for him at the
spaceport. When he emerged from his ship, a breath you hadn't even
realized you'd been holding rushed out of you. You knew others were
watching, but you didn't really care, dashing across the duracrete to
throw yourself into his outstretched arms.

Living without you
Living alone
This empty house seems so cold
Wanting to hold you
Wanting you near
How much I wanted you home

He kissed you furiously, pressing his hot lips against yours. Strong
arms wrapped around you, hugging your body tight against his solid
frame. Your heart sang out to his, while you blinked back tears and
whispered how much you had missed him. Lovingly, he kissed away the
tears that managed to escape, letting you know that he missed you
just as much.

Even though he was tired from his long journey, sleep could wait.
Once you were safely inside your home, clothes couldn't be removed
fast enough, both of you desperate to feel skin against skin. Your
skin turned to fire at his touch, heated kisses melting you from the
inside out. Crying out for each other in passion, you joined as one
for the first time in too many months. The heavens exploded around
you, rocketing you to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, together
this time, the way it should be.

But now that you've come back
Turned night into day
I need you to stay

Watching the lightening illuminate his features, you sigh happily,
wishing on the thundering heavens above that he can stay right here
with you forever. You know that the Force will tear him from you
again, as duty calls on the special gift that life has given to him.
Though if every reunion is this sweet, maybe you won't mind quite so
much the next time.

Thunder continues to rumble in the distance, but the rain pelting the
window has taken up a steady rhythm. Snuggling under the soft
sheets, you nestle your head against his shoulder. A strong arm
wraps around your waist to pull you closer, bringing a smile to your
lips. Softly he whispers how much he loves you, and together you
drift off to blissful, contented sleep, wrapped securely in each
others arms.
